So I’m Easy. Is There Really Any Virtue In Being Difficult?

It’s been a busy week, and weekend, hence the total lack of blogging.  I’ve had a really wonderful birthday weekend, complete with gifts and cake and drinks and all sorts of fabulousness!

There are pictures to get posted and I’ve crossed off a few list items which I want to tell you about, but it’ll have to wait a day or two.  While I have a moment, I’d like to express my gratitude to a few people who made this birthday particularly memorable.

Thank you Jack for making this a really amazing weekend for me.  You’re so loving and generous, I hope you know how special you are to me and how much I love and appreciate you :)

Thank you V for being you, and for your friendship.  You inspire and motivate me on a daily basis, and you’ve really added a great deal to our lives this past month.  I’m so thankful to have you here, and to be able to share this birthday with you.

Thank you Padme, for the sweet birthday wishes and for the phone call this morning.  Even across the miles you are one of my two very dearest friends, and I am glad to have you to talk whenever I need an understanding ear.  You are so thoughtful and genuine and I want you to know that you mean a great deal to me.

You guys are awesome, and I am better for knowing each one of you.  This birthday wouldn’t have been nearly as great without you guys!

XOXO

Monday, the final day of Padme’s visit, was blessedly low key.  We had coffee together in the morning, I threw in some laundry for her so that she would have a suitcase full of clean clothes to take home, and we spent most of the day talking in my library/front room.

I don’t think either of us felt particularly perky, so it was nice to take it easy and just have a quiet day together.  We talked a lot about our night at Goodhandy’s, and everything else that happened over the weekend.

At the appointed hour we headed for the airport.  Jack took the kids so that she and I could go on our own.  We got her checked in and then went to Swiss Chalet for something to eat.  It was nice to have extra time to visit a little more before she had to go.

We stepped outside for some air, as it was nearly time for her to go through security.  We kissed goodbye, which was bittersweet.  I walked her to the security gate and we hugged a couple of times and then she got in line.  I walked away, and stopped to look back.  She looked back too and we smiled and waved at each other.

I was so sad to see her go.  The drive home was a mix of happiness over all the things we’d been able to do together, and also dismay that it was over and we were both headed back to the real world again.  I wish it could have lasted longer, but that’s just not the way life works at times.  I know I’ll see her again someday, hopefully not too far off into the future.  Vancouver is beautiful, so I hope I can sneak out there for a weekend some time if we catch a good seat sale.

Padme has offered to show me around her city, since I’ve never really been there before, and I intend to take her up on that.  Who knows what sort of wild times will be in store for us the next time we get together.

We were both exhausted, and it felt like I was moving in slow motion.  We got cleaned up, packed our things, and I ran down to fetch our complementary coffee and breakfast from the lobby.  The coffee wasn’t that great, but at that point we didn’t care.  We got a little food down, and I wrote down the directions to where our wine tour was starting, and then we checked out and loaded our stuff into the truck.

For those of you who are not familiar, the Niagara region is home to some of the finest wineries in Canada.  The peninsula is only 40 km long, and quite narrow, so the competition for vineyard space is fierce.  Many of the wines produced here are not available in stores, you must actually visit the winery itself to taste and purchase.  Niagara On The Lake, which is a tiny town in the heart of wine country, is steeped in history.  When the Americans invaded during the war of 1812 they burned it to the ground, but it’s been rebuilt and restored to it’s original glory.  Most of the buildings on the main street were constructed in the years immediately following the war, and they have been beautifully cared for and maintained ever since.  Honestly, if you’ve never visited, and you get the opportunity, GO!  It’s something to see.

After about an hour and a half of driving, we reached Niagara On The Lake well ahead of time for the tour.  I showed Padme around the town some, and then we parked on main street and browsed through some of the fabulous little shops found there.  We could have spent the day I am sure, but I wanted to take her by Peller Estates before the tour, since it wasn’t on the itinerary and I’ve been dying to get another bottle of their Ice Cuvée (one of the types you can’t get in stores).

Classic Ice Cuvee

The Peller Estates winery is absolutely gorgeous.  We took some photos of the outside before we went in to the wine boutique.

We browsed the different wines they offered, and when I came across their 2002 Signature Series Cabernet Franc, I thought of Jack and decided to pick him up a bottle for Father’s Day.  He’s more of a red wine drinker than I am, so we tend to have a lot of white wines at the house.  I was sure he’d really enjoy this particular wine, and 2002 was a great year for us (we got married, bought our first place, and had our first child).

Cabernet Franc

When I found a bottle of the Ice Cuvée I love, I discovered it comes in Rosé now as well.  Even though I am generally not partial to those types of wine, I decided it would be worth a try anyway.  Who knows, maybe I’ll love it as a sparkling wine.

Rose

In addition to the wine, I also got Jack a box of Ice Wine Chocolates.  They are sooooooo rich, and such a nice treat really.  He and I both have way too many ‘things’ which is why I wanted to get him some treats over the weekend for Father’s Day.

When we finished up at Peller, we drove to the appointed meeting place for our guided tour.  We ended up being the only people on the wine tour that day, which was actually fabulous, because our director was fantastic and really made the afternoon so much more than we imagined.  He’s a history buff, so he talked a lot about the region and shared so many facts about wine making and about the war and the American invasion.  I wish I’d been taking notes, LOL, it was the best history/economy lesson I’ve ever had!

Our first stop was Jackson Triggs.  That’s one impressive winery!  They actually put together all of the wine making equipment, and then built the ‘modern barn’ around it.

Jackson Triggs Winery

We were shown around the outside of the winery, and the young woman who did the tour there was fantastic.  I learned all sorts of interesting information about the process of wine making that I hadn’t known before.

She took us through the inside of the winery as well.  We were shown the wine press, and the stainless steel tanks where white wines (and some reds) are aged.  There were two levels of tanks, housing rows and rows of them.  I was so glad that we were allowed to take photos inside, even if the lighting was terrible and difficult to work with.

White Wine Tanks

Wine Vats

Once we’d seen the processing and fermentation area, we got to go downstairs, underground, to their equally impressive barrel cellar, where the red wines are aged in French and American oak barrels.

Let me tell you, the smell down there is AMAZING!  If you were down there long enough, believe it or not, you could get drunk off the fumes alone (apparently some of the enormous cellars in France restrict visiting times to 20 minutes or less for this reason).

Their barrel cellar features a dining area as well, which can be rented out for weddings, corporate events, or other special occasions. I think I want to have my birthday celebration there one year. Maybe when I turn 30, LOL.

Red Wine Barrels

When our official tour was over, we got to taste three varieties of their wine. We had a few very obnoxious people on our tour, so I’ll admit I was relieved when it was over. The wines we tried were quite excellent, and we both ended up picking up a bottle of their Delaine Vineyard 2005 Riesling.

Jackson Triggs

Our driver/guide picked us up when our Jackson Triggs tour was finished, and off we went to the next stop, Strewn Winery.

It was neat to be going from a huge operation like Jackson Triggs, to a much smaller set up like Strewn.  They also have a really neat program, which helps finance their barrels, and gives people an opportunity to invest in the winery in exchange for some fantastic returns.  Basically, you purchase a barrel (between $400-$700) and then Strewn uses it in their cellar.  You do not get the wine in the barrel, but each year for five years you get about $150 to spend in their wine boutique.  It’s designed so that you actually get more back than you initially invested.

While we were doing a tasting in the cellar, we got to try a very young wine that hadn’t aged long enough, directly from one of the barrels.  That was a very neat experience because most people never have the opportunity to taste a ‘new’ wine right out of the barrel.

I didn’t end up purchasing any wine there, although I intend to go back and buy some of their second press ice wine, which is more affordable than regular ice wine and not as intensely sweet.  It’s essentially, a perfect wine for me.  Sweet but not too sweet, and cheap enough that we could buy a case of it to keep in hand.  Also I could justify cooking with it, which I am dying to try, and which I don’t think I could do with a regular $50 bottle of ice wine.

Outside of Strewn were several clumps of rose bushes.  Did you know that wine growers plant rose bushes at the ends of grape vine rows, or near to their vineyards, to help check for disease?  Roses are very susceptible to insects, parasites, and diseases that might affect the grapes.  So, they check the roses every day to see if something is the matter with them, and if there is trouble, they can start walking the vines to find out if it’s spread to the vineyard.

Red Rose

White Rose

Cattail Estate Wineryis a small, family run business.  They have been growing grapes since 1957, but only recently have they established a wine making facility.  They bottle their wines by hand, and you can tell that everyone who works there really cares a great deal about the wine they produce.

I loved the small, friendly feel of the place.  Their wines were excellent, and we had a great time bantering with the young woman who took us on the tour and provided us with cheese, crackers, and fruit with our tasting.  That was nice because Padme and I were both beginning to feel a little intoxicated, LOL.

I didn’t purchase any wine there either, although I cannot wait to take Jack there for a tasting!

Our last stop on the wine tour was Caroline Cellars, another smaller winery.  I really loved the inside of their winery, and I’d like to go back to try some of their other fruit wines.  As it was, I took home a bottle of their very sweet and delicious 2006 Winter Peach.

Winter Peach

I was sad to see our tour come to an end, but the day wasn’t over yet!  I still wanted to take Padme to see Niagara Falls, and grab a bite to eat before we headed home.

115. Take a wine tour

We bid our guide a good evening, he was so wonderful I think I’ll request him on future tours.  Also, I highly recommend Crush Tours if you’re planning to be in the Niagara area.  They were fantastic, totally accommodating, and very friendly.  I intend to book tours with them down the road when our family comes out to visit.

It was crazy at the falls, of course.  Being a Sunday, and Father’s Day no less, there were people everywhere!  We walked along the wall that overlooks the river and the falls themselves.  Padme was quite impressed it seemed, and she took a ton of pictures.  I snapped a few close ups with my camera as well.

Niagara

Niagara Falls

We strolled through a couple of souviner shops as well, so that Padme could pick up some momentos for her kids.  Since there wasn’t much in the way of dining near the falls, and parking there is a nightmare, we just grabbed some sandwiches from Tim Hortons and ate them outside.  There was a very stupid and persistent seagull who was intent on getting food from us.  He kept creeping closer, then he’d squalk a few times and tilt his head to regard us with his beady eyes.  Eventually I started throwing rocks at him, despite the fact that I was tempted to give him some food.  I knew that if I did he’d just call 50 of his buddies over or become even more annoying.

It was getting late in the day, so we headed for home.  Padme was able to nap some in the car, which I didn’t mind at all.

Back at my place, we relaxed in the living room and drank some ice wine, which I had purchased weeks before for just that occassion.  It was nice to unwind after such a busy day, and I felt exhausted.  I think I was out before my head even hit the pillow!

Make sure to check Padme’s blog for her posts about the weekend as well :)

We got up bright and early on Saturday morning, since we wanted to have a full day in Toronto before our evening out at Goodhandy’s.

Since we were going to be staying the night in the city we packed up a suitcase of clothes, toys, and whatever other paraphernalia we thought we’d need that night and the next day.  We grabbed coffee and breakfast at Tim’s on our way out of town, since Padme and I both require copious amounts of caffeine for survival.

We made great time getting into the city, and the first order of business was to find parking at Eaton’s Center, and then go shopping in the mall.  If you’ve never been to this particular mall, basically the attraction is that it’s really big, with lots and lots of great stores.  My favorite part of the mall is the display of 50 Canadian geese, suspended from the atrium ceiling.

Not my best photography (by far!) but these should give you an idea of what I’m talking about:

Geese

Eaton's Center

At the mall we went into Indigo, where Padme and I browsed the sexuality section, and she picked up a book of memoirs written by a submissive.  I imagine it would be a great read.  If I wasn’t already up to my neck in books that need to be read, I may have been tempted to pick up one of the books on tantric sex, since I’ve been wanting to learn more about that much talked-about style of intimacy.

We also made a stop at one of our all time favorite stores, Lush.  We browsed all of the wonderful smelling products they offer, torn between what to buy just then.  I ended up treating myself to a Big Blue, a Geo Phyzz, and then decided to try something new with one of their bubble bars, Bathos.  I’ll be sure to let you know how I end up liking it :)

Padme and I are both chocolate junkies, so we couldn’t resist making a little purchase at Godiva.  Since the summer specials aren’t available all year long, I splurged on a box of six truffles from their new collection.  I had a few later that evening, and let me tell you, SOOOOOOO delicious.

Since we’d seen pretty much all we wanted to see at the center, we made our way out to the truck, and then up the street to NorthBound Leather.  Now, I’ve been reading about this place and drooling over their website for YEARS, and finally I was actually going there to check it out.  Padme and I were both beside ourselves with excitement.

Really it was everything I expected it to be, and more.  That earthy leather smell never fails to give me tingles, and the outfits…totally exquisite.  It took every ounce of will power I had to look through everything and not spend every dime I had.  I drooled over this dress, but I didn’t even try it on for fear I wouldn’t have been able to leave there without it.  There were boots and collars and all manner of fetish gear and toys.  If I ever win the lottery, I think I’ll go back there and just purchase one of everything, LOL, it’s that amazing!  I’m thinking I’ll have to take Varick there and talk him into buying a pair of leather pants.  Mmmmmm…

We managed to drag ourselves out of there, however reluctantly, without crippling our bank accounts.  There were a couple of other adult/fet wear shops nearby, so we decided to take a look around before we headed to Queen St for lunch.  I found a long, black PVC skirt, with slits up both sides, which I decided to pick up for future nights at Goodhandy’s.  It looks pretty hot on me, I must say :P  Perhaps I’ll get around to taking some photos for posting here sometime soon.

Padme picked up some more stockings (you would not believe how many different nylons and stockings that girl has, seriously) although she was still on the hunt for a new skirt or something similar to wear out that evening.

We left Yonge St and made our way over to the ’shopping district’ of Queen St. W.  On our way we cruised past Much Music, which was setting up for the MMVA’s.  The street was an absolute zoo, and I was relieved that our destination was quite a bit west of there.  We found parking near to Banu, which is where we planned to have lunch.

It’s a really sleek little place.  Trendy couch-type chairs to relax on, and tables tiled with small turquoise squares.

Padme and I both ordered vodka, 2 oz each, on the rocks.  She had the Stolichnaya Elit (Russian) and I had Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka (Polish).  We were also brought a bowl of seasoned pistachios, which helped tide us over until our food arrived.

Vodka At Banu

I’ve never been keen on drinking spirits straight up, so that was an experience in itself.  Had it not been such fine vodka I doubt I could have managed it without gagging, LOL.  At any rate, it was satisfying to cross yet another item off the bucket list:

263. Do Vodka shots at Banu

And that wasn’t all!  For lunch Padme ordered Joujeh (grilled chicken wings in a saffron citrus marinade) and I ordered Zaban (braised cow tongue in a tomato saffron sauce) followed by Dom balan (‘Urban Oysters’, lamb testicles marinated in vodka) for us to share.  Scroll over the photos to see what they are in case you’re not sure.

Grilled Testicals And Sides

Lamb Testicals

The beef tongue sandwich was really tasty.  The tongue was done perfectly, juicy and tender, and it went so well with the pickle chutney on the side.  Padme even tried a nibble and agreed that it was delicious.  Her chicken wings were fantastic, and I think should I ever go back to Banu, that’s exactly what I would order.  She let me try one and it was seasoned so perfectly and grilled just right.  Yum!

When the lamb testicles arrived, I was excited to try them.  They were surprisingly soft, easily cut with the side of a fork, with a very mild flavour.  I suppose you could compare it to liver, except not disgusting.

47. Eat something really bizarre (like animal testicles)

I think I’d even go so far as ordering these again, particularly if I was in the company of someone else who wanted to try them, but who didn’t want to commit to have to eating them all.  Padme tried a bite, but wasn’t exactly enamoured with them.

We debated ordering a hooka while we were there, but decided against it since we still had shopping to get done and we wanted to leave ourselves lots of time to get ready for Goodhandy’s later that evening.  The chef had never cooked the cow tongue before, and I praised him highly on it, which apparently paid off because he’d omitted it from the bill (or perhaps it had been an accident).

Our bellies full, we strolled up Queen St. and visited a few shops.  Padme found a VERY sexy, short PVC skirt at MissBehav’N.  I was so glad she found something because I know she’d been itching for a new skirt.  It looked fabulous on her, and she’d brought a little white top that ties in the front, to go with it.

We also stopped at Come As You Are, and browsed their impressive collection of toys and books.  Honestly I could have come home with dozens of books, I saw so many that I wanted, but I managed to restrain myself, somehow.

358. Spend a day shopping on Queen Street W in Toronto

Dufflet Pastry was our last stop of the day.  I wanted to take home a treat for Jack, to thank him for watching the kids for the weekend so that I could go out.  I picked up a baby truffle for me, and a blueberry buttermilk euro tart for him.

267. Take home a pastry from Dufflet

Padme picked out a coconut cream tart, and then off we went.  Our hotel was nice and close to the club, and we checked in with plenty of time to get ready, which was good, since it had been a hot day and we both felt like having a shower before going out.

We had some coffee, and then each of us had a shower.  I debated back and forth about what to wear, and we got into the vodka and gin we brought with us.  We were really excited about going out for the night and partying.  I was well on my way to drunk by the time we left the hotel.  I was wearing a very short, very see-through, bright pink and black tutu, and a black tank top.  I was carrying a riding crop, and giggling maniacally.  Padme said I fairly sprinted across the lobby, laughing my fool head off the entire way, and drawing far too much attention to myself in the process.  Ah well.

Goodhandy’s was still fairly quiet when we arrived, which I’d planned on, since I wanted us to have time to chat with Todd before he got terribly busy.  I introduced Padme to him and we had a chance to sit down for a chat together.  She showed him her new tattoo, which he seemed to like.  He also treated us to a round of drinks, which was so very sweet of him.  He asked if the rest of my ‘entourage’ would be making an appearance that evening, and I told him I wasn’t sure.  Nia was out of town for the weekend, so I didn’t know if Flavia and the rest of the bunch would show up.

When the club started to fill up, Todd had to excuse himself to keep an eye on everything.  I had noticed one of the spanking benches was up on the stage, but behind a curtain which they close to provide an area for women and trans people to get away from the drooling mass of males.  I asked Todd if it would be ok to drag the bench out to the front of the stage later, which he said would be fine.

Padme and I danced some, grinding against each other and putting on a bit of a show.  I sat down and she gave me a sexy lap dance, which was very hot, and it seemed like the guys were enjoying what we were doing.

421. Receive a lap dance

At some point Padme started talking to this attractive gentleman.  He bought us a round of drinks and the three of us ended up dirty dancing together.  It was great fun having a girl-guy-girl sandwich.  Padme and I made out some, but I was right in the middle of my period of course, which was kind of a downer.  Still, I wanted her to have a great night and get lucky :P  She asked me if I thought she should hook up with the guy.  He seemed very nice and he was totally good looking, so I encouraged her to do so.

She and he and I all went upstairs after we’d had enough dancing.  We staked our claim in one of the larger booths upstairs, although it didn’t have a curtain.  No matter, I was happy to sit by the doorway, riding crop in hand, to keep back the masses, and boy did I have my work cut out for me.

Padme and the guy started getting into it with each other.  Clothes started to come off and almost instantly there was a crowd gathered at the door.  I asked a few of them to step back, flicking my crop and then using it as something of a barricade.  One of them, a much older man, who was masturbating, put his hand on my leg and I shot him an unimpressed look.  You’re not supposed to touch without an invitation at Goodhandy’s, and he’s lucky I didn’t call over security to have him removed.  He pulled his hand away and then asked if he could touch me.

“Only if you want a serious ass kicking” I said, glaring.  He took a step back, and I was glad the the rest of the group heard me because none of them made a move on me after that.

Padme and her friend were really enjoying themselves.  They were fucking and groaning and kissing and licking each other.  It was quite a sight.  I was very pleased that she was having such a great time.

I noticed a somewhat familiar face in the crowd that was gathered at the door.  I recognised her as a cute cross-dresser whom I’d spoken to there once before.  Smiling, I invited her to sit down beside me on the bench while the others looked on enviously.  She thanked me for letting her sit down and we made some jokes about me guarding the entrance.  In fact the running joke between Padme and I for most of the evening was that I got to be the gatekeeper, and would only grant access to those whom I favoured.

One of the men watching was masturbating very close to one of my feet, because I had my legs crossed which put my foot almost directly under his exposed junk.  I remarked to my new friend (the cross-dresser, who probably needs a name, so I’ll call her Nikki) that if the guy came on my shoe I was going to crop him, hard, right on the cock.  He must have heard me because he seemed a little flustered and not sure what to do.  Nikki giggled and told me I should tap him on the cock with it anyway, and we both laughed.  She’s a bad one, she kept telling me to do it and I kept saying “No way!  You’re terrible!!!” and then we’d giggle some more.

Padme and her friend eventually got finished, after the whole club heard her screaming I am sure.  She’s a LOUD cummer, LOL.  While she went to get cleaned up, Nikki and I went downstairs and I pulled the spanking bench out from behind the curtain.  Nikki stripped down to her adorable bra and panties and up on the bench she went.

Having never played with her before I made sure to warm her up good.  I also paused to ask her how she was doing and if she wanted it harder/lighter, and that sort of thing.  She really seemed to be enjoying herself, and it wasn’t long before Padme returned and joined me in the exquisite torture of our willing victim.

There was also some play which involved Padme bent over, side by side with Nikki, and I was spanking them both simultaneously.  That was pretty neat really, LOL, and they seemed to enjoy it.  My concept of time was a little off, so I’m not sure how long we played like that, but we had drawn a bit of a crowd.  Eventually Nikki was finished her turn, and after she got off I jokingly swatted the bench with my crop and shouted “Who is next?”

Well this little old Asian guy standing near the stage stripped so fast I barely had time to realise what was happening.  Up on the bench he jumped in all his half-naked glory, with his man bits exposed for the whole room to see.  I just chuckled and started in on him.  I had my crop and also a small leather flogger, plus I used my hands.  Padme was complaining that she wanted a turn but I made her wait for it.  The guy seemed to really be enjoying himself, although it was a little too tempting to really go to town on his dangly parts with my crop, HA HA.

423. Spank a total stranger

When I grew bored of beating on his ass, I dismissed him, and he slinked away to get dressed again.  Padme was next on the bench, and I didn’t even bother with a warm up, I just laid into her with the crop and the flogger.  While I was doing this, a kind of odd guy came up, and he stood near her back end where I was working and looked generally confused.  He seemed to be trying to edge in as close as he could without getting the the way of my crop.  I was standing to one side of Padme’s ass, up on the stage, and he was standing on the floor directly across from me, on the other side of her.

Then, he reached out and put his hand on her leg, and I reacted in a split second, smacking him across the face with my crop.  Like literally, right on the cheek.  Not too hard, but certainly he made an impression.

“Do NOT touch without asking” I growled.  He stepped back, clearly startled.  I just glared at him, I wanted it to be completely clear to him and anyone else who was watching that I would not tolerate that sort of behaviour.  There are signs all over the club which clearly state that touching is not allowed unless there is a clear invitation, and in this case, there certainly was not.

He backed away, but returned later to pester us some more.  I shooed him away after he asked Padme to suck his dick.  Seriously buddy, get a clue!

I was getting played out from all the beatings I’d been giving, and finally decided to take a break.  I left Nikki and Padme while I headed outside for some air.  Who should I run into out there?  The clueless guy, of course!

“You know what the trouble with this club is” he said, clearly annoyed “the women don’t participate!”

I just chuckled.

“Sure they do.  Just not with YOU” I replied with a smirk.

He just shook his head and wandered off, dejected.  You know he was good looking too, so it’s a shame he was such a moron.  I mean what does he expect?  To go to a club and have women falling all over him and just fucking anything that moves?  Does that really happen anywhere in real life besides carefully organised private parties??  Somehow I doubt it.  99% of the women I know are a little more discriminating than that.

The night was winding down when I went back inside.  We gathered our things, said our goodbyes, and then Padme and I staggered back to our hotel, totally exhausted.  We barely made it up to our room before we collapsed.

However, we were STARVING, so I began searching online for pizza joints that still delivered at 3:30am.  Finally I found one, ordered a large chicken and cheese, and then promptly passed out.  Padme was already mostly asleep in bed, but she nudged me awake some time later, saying she thought the pizza was there.  I staggered to the door and took the pizza, paid, and then brought it into the room.

“Pizza is here” I said, then set it down on the chair.  Padme didn’t stir and I thought to myself “I’ll just lay down for a minute and then eat something”.  A minute tuned into four hours, and before I knew it, we were rolling out of bed to get the next day started.

Friday morning was nice and relaxing.  Padme and I shared coffee and had a nice long talk.  It was so wonderful having our morning coffee together, face to face.  We sat at my kitchen table and just chatted away, like we’d done it dozens of times before.  I hadn’t been sure how easily our ‘online’ friendship would translate into real life, but in my opinion it was totally comfortable and relaxed.

We’d planned for homemade margaritas and hot oil fondue that evening, so off to the grocery store we went.  I picked up seafood and meat and some veggies, plus canola oil and tempura batter mix.  We made a stop at the LCBO for tequila, and I grabbed some vodka and gin for the following evening as well.  She and I planned to have some drinks at the hotel before going out (since we planned to take our time getting ready and it’s cheaper than the bar anyway).

Padme had no idea that I’d scheduled her tattoo appointment for later that  evening.  I’d made all the arrangements and picked out a design for her, and somehow managed to keep it all a secret.  I informed her that we would be leaving at around 4pm for Thrive Studios, so that she could get her new ink.  The look on her face was priceless, and I knew she was going to be a nervous mess.

She sat at my breakfast bar and we chatted while I cut up pork loin and chicken breast into bite-sized pieces for later that night.  I just love fondue, but we don’t have them too often since it’s more of a social, group activity.

At the appointed hour we drove out to Cambridge and parked at the shop.  While we waited for her artist to get ready, I had Jesse quickly change out the jewelry in my double labret piercing.  They always put extra long ‘posts’ in to begin with, so there is room for swelling.  Once the risk of infection has decreased (they tend to act up most when they are fresh and more vulnerable) then shorter posts can be put in.

I had the kids with me for the first part of her session, so I wasn’t able to sit with her.  Jack came and fetched them as soon as he possibly could, so I got to see her get the coloring done, which basically took just as long as the outline and shading.

Even though I’ve got a couple of tattoos myself, and many of my friends are sporting some body art, I’ve never actually seen someone getting it done in person (save for a few moments while walking through a tattoo shop).  I’d been curious about really sharing the experience with someone, since I know how intense it can be for me, which is why I’d put it on my bucket list:

375. Watch someone get a tattoo

Padme seemed really thrilled with it all.  She loved the design I picked out for her, and her artist was so talented.  He made sure she took a few breathers, which I’m sure she appreciated.  I remember how really painful my first tattoo was, right on the spine in the middle of my back.  Still, totally worth it, and I think she left feeling the same way about hers.

The endorphin rush lasted most of the evening for her, which just made me smile.  Every time I get something done, I feel high for hours afterwards.

She managed to eat some at supper, and really enjoyed the strawberry margaritas we made.  I think I’ve finally mastered the right proportions with our margarita maker, since they were super yummy and went very well with the fondue.

For those of you that don’t know, fondue takes quite a long time as far as meals go.  Essentially you are cooking very small pieces of meat and vegetables in hot oil, one at a time, which requires a bit of patience.  The process is slow, but overall I think you eat less because your body has time to feel full, and it’s easier to avoid eating waaaay too much.

After we finished eating and drinking Padme and I wanted to round up some of our things for our night in Toronto.  I gave her a tour of my toy collection, which she seemed to enjoy.  There was one toy in particular, which I have not reviewed here yet, that she was very enamoured with.  I decided to let her give it a go, you know, in the name of getting a ’second opinion’ as it were.  She was quite thrilled with it, and seemed to enjoy herself very, very much.  Watch for that review in the coming weeks ;)

The tequila and the orgasm and the excitement of the day seemed to tire her out, and after I tucked her in, I drug myself up to bed as well.  Getting a good nights sleep was very important, since we had a ton of plans for Saturday and would certainly need the energy.

I’m sure at least some of you are looking forward to hearing the details of Padme’s visit to the GTA.  I’ve decided to break up the stories into different days, since the post would be miles and miles long if I tried to fit it all into one :)

Thursday was filled with angsty excitement while I got ready for her arrival.  At the appointed hour I departed for the airport, only to get delayed in traffic THREE TIMES!  Damned 401 and the annoying people driving on it.  I didn’t want Padme to arrive and start panicking when I wasn’t there to meet her, so I called ahead to the airport to leave a message that I was on my way but was going to be a little late.

She was already in the waiting area when I dashed into the terminal.  It was so exciting to finally meet her in person and give her a big hug!

281. Meet Padme in person

We were both a little nervous I think, but conversation came easily while we walked back to the car and headed to my home.  I was looking forward to showing her the new house and taking her on a tour of the city.

Once we arrived she was able to settle in and take a shower and have a cup of coffee.  We sat and visited for a while, and it was so nice to talk face to face.  When Jack got home from work Padme and I were able to leave for supper at one of my favorite sushi joints.

It was really neat having sushi together, and we ordered all kinds of food and chatted for what seemed like hours.  We laughed and gossiped like a couple of teenagers.  We ate far too much sushi, and by the time we left to go back to my place we were both sluggish and a bit tired, LOL.

The rest of the evening was spent visiting at my house in the living room.  We were both pretty tired, so we headed to bed at a fairly decent hour, since we had quite a few plans for Friday.

All of that, however, will have to wait until tomorrow, since I’m bagged and headed to bed with a certain naked man.  Yum!

What Happens In Toronto...

Tomorrow, in about 27 hours, I’ll be picking up Padme at the Pearson airport for our weekend of adventure and debauchery.  She and Master Anakin sent me this awesome pin from their online store, in celebration of this very special trip.  I thought it only suitable after the fantastic photo she posted, that I come up with something creative as well to kick off her visit here!

Take this photo, by myself, with the pin perched over my clit, was quite an exercise, but overall I’m pretty content with the results.  I hope everyone else enjoys it as well :P

It’s difficult to believe that after being friends online for soooooooo long, tomorrow I’ll finally get to meet Padme in person and give her a big hug.  She and I met through our blogs (not this one of mine, but a previous incarnation) and became fast friends.  We’ve certainly had our ups and downs, as most friendships do, but we’ve stuck it out, and now we’ll get to have morning coffee together in person at last.

We’ve sure got a lot packed into this weekend as far as plans go.  Sushi and shopping, partying at Goodhandy’s and spending a night in Toronto, a wine tour, seeing Niagara Falls together, plus something extra special that I have planned for her (can’t tell yet, you’ll have to wait and see afterwards).  She and I will both get to cross a ton of things off of our respective bucket lists, plus we’ll have memories to last a life time.

I just know that tomorrow I’ll be a bundle of nerves.  The past couple of days have thrown me off some, but now that Sadie is fine, I can focus on the weekend again, and get ready for everything we want to do while she’s here!  I feel a little overwhelmed because I lost those two days of preparation time, so now it’s like there is SO much to do, and so little time to do it.  I know she isn’t coming here to judge the organization of my house, LOL, so I’m just going to do as much as I can and be happy with that.  After all, I hadn’t counted on spending two days in the hospital, and there is nothing I can do about that now.

As I’ve mentioned before, I will be updating Twitter over the weekend, so if you’re interested in keeping up with our activities, be sure to check in for those.  There will be much to blog about after Padme heads home I am sure.  Hopefully I’ll have the energy to write about it all, LOL, I get the feeling I’m going to be pretty wiped out.

Who knows what will happen this weekend ;)  I’m certain it’s going to be a hot and sexy time, that’s for sure :P  Until next week, my lovelies…

BlinkI’ve been spending an awful lot of time this week doing all of my belated spring cleaning.  Having Varick come over, not to mention Padme’s arrival next week, is excellent motivation.  There was plenty of catching up to do, and it feels awesome to see the house looking so clean and organized.

Varick was supposed to come over last night for a while, but unfortunately a badly timed bout of food poisoning forced him to take half a day off work and head home and stay close to the toilet for most of the afternoon.  He felt better come evening, but I encouraged him to stay home and rest, since he still wasn’t 100% and hadn’t tried eating anything for supper.  As badly as he wanted that massage I’d promised him, he relented and took it easy for the night, promising to come over tonight and Saturday night as well, no matter what.

See, we’d originally only had plans for last night, and then after some back and forth about it, decided that really one night was not enough, and perhaps having plans three nights in a row would be even more excellent than just one.  Thus, it wasn’t the end of the world that he had to cancel last night, since I still get to see him tonight and tomorrow night.  I’m really looking forward to a long hot bath together and then spoiling him with a massage.  I am just way too good to that boy, LOL.

I should do a bit of a grocery run this afternoon, so that I can pick up some snacks for tonight and maybe a couple of bottles of wine.  I have no idea if Varick is much of a wine drinker, but it’s best to be prepared, and good wine never goes to waste in this house anyway.

Hopefully there will be more in the way of tasty tidbits for this blog after tonight ;)  It’s a gorgeous day out and I plan to enjoy the sunshine this afternoon.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Stupid boys with their stupid boy penises!

I’ve been flipping back and forth between angst and contentment when it comes to Varick.  Basically it seems that I feel content when I talk to him, and then angsty when I talk to Deja.  I adore her, and she’s a good friend to me.  She only wants both he and I to be happy, but poly is a foreign concept to her, and sometimes her delivery when it comes to advice leaves much to be desired.  She and he are friends so I suppose I wonder if perhaps she knows things about him that she doesn’t tell me.  Today she told me to remember that he’s just starting to get out into the world and wants to ‘explore’ which I’m sure really means ‘play the field’.  I’m ok with that, really I am, I do not expect monogamy or any sort of serious commitment from him.  However, her quasi-negativity over the future of this relationship does feed into some of the not very nice things I occasionally tell myself.

I was talking to Padmeabout it today on the phone and I mentioned to her that if Deja was not part of the picture, and I was only going off the signals I’ve gotten from Varick, I would feel pretty good about how things are going.  I mean obviously, if I am inclined to invite him to my home, and to commit to spending more time with him, I must see something there.  Padme advised me that if Deja doesn’t want to be stuck in the middle should things go to hell, she should probably stay out of the middle now as it were.  I know that I am mostly to blame, since I generally initiate conversations with Deja about Varick, and so I’m going to stop doing that.  If she brings him up, I shall gently change the subject, or just tell her that I’m not inclined to discuss it.  I don’t want to alienate her, but at the same time, I have a hard time taking her with a grain of salt.

I wanted to see if perhaps she was hinting that I should just end it with him, so I let on that I was thinking of calling it all off.  She seemed upset by this idea and told me not to tell him that we had spoken of it and to go with the flow.  Well ‘go with the flow’ is simple enough advice, but it can be difficult when it comes to matters of the heart.  I’ve never been particularly skilled at sitting back and letting things take their course.  I’m a planner!  I need to be able to predict, at least vaguely, where things might be headed.  I don’t have a crystal ball, and I tend to cope well when plans change, but having absolutely no clue where I stand with someone?  Not something I can do.

That’s really what bothers me the most I guess, having no clue what his intentions are, or ideas about what he wants from me.  I mean I hadn’t exactly predicted that we’d end up hitting it off and then becoming sexually involved so quickly.  All I knew was that he wanted someone to practice on, and generally I’m up for a good beating, so I volunteered.  Now we’ve only been together a few times, but I can already predict very certainly that if I keep seeing him, I’m going to fall for him.  The seeds have already been planted.  If that’s going to be a problem for him, best to nip it in the bud now, before they have much of a chance to take root.

Perhaps he wasn’t expecting any of it either and that’s why he became so overwhelmed on the weekend, but I don’t know that for sure.  I felt like him feeling vulnerable with me was a good sign, but I don’t really know for sure.

What it comes down to is that I want to know where he feels this might be going, if anywhere.  If he just wants something super casual, I’ll have to decide if I can be ok with that too.  If he’s not sure at all, we can discuss that as well.  It’s really the NOT KNOWING that makes me batshit crazy.

Once his desires have been reveled, the next big question will be what do I want from him.  I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I’d like in a relationship, and I feel that over the months I’ve begun really compromising when it comes to what I’m looking for.  Out of frustration I think I’ve lowered my standards, and now I’m not certain how I feel about that.

When it comes right down to it, I would ideally love to meet someone who is interested in dating long term.  Barring that, I’d like to date someone who is open to the possibility of long term but who isn’t totally certain right off that they could do that in a poly arrangement.

Now I find myself wondering if I can settle for being ‘entertainment until something more suitable comes along’.  Do I want to be a friend with benefits?  I thought I did, but I don’t think it really makes me happy.  Of course, it really depends on the person.  With LD, we were close friends and lovers, and I know at one point I was certainly starting to slide into being in love with him.  It didn’t happen over night, and I suppose I never felt like I’d be replaced if he was seeing other people, because even if he got into a monogamous relationship, we would remain close.  I don’t even have a friendship with Varick to fall back on, and I don’t think that adds to the good feelings.

If Varick just wants a play thing and a fuck buddy, can I do that and be happy?  I’m not sure.  It’s a question I’ve begun to ponder.  Like I said, I don’t want a commitment, nor do I want monogamy, but I’d like to know that he at least has intentions of continuing to see me and is perhaps open to the idea of a romantic relationship should it develop.  Is that unreasonable?

I’m encouraged by the fact that other people more neutral and insightful than I have a good feeling about this situation.  Both Padme and Nia have commented that they think there is a lot of potential here for something awesome, and I know that they are right.  When I first became involved with one of my ex’s neither of us intended for it to become a meaningful relationship, but over the period of a couple of months, that’s exactly where we ended up.  It can certainly happen, and I feel like Varick enjoys romance and being spoiled and I love that sort of thing.  Honestly I feel like I am a really good girlfriend in many ways and that I have tons to offer men who might date me.

I have to repeat that again because I think it’s an important reminder when I feel this way: I am a really good girlfriend and I have tons to offer my partners.

Really I know that I just need to force myself to initiate a conversation with him about it when I see him next.  I’ve been mulling over how I will open up the discussion, since that’s really the most difficult part.  I think I’ll just let him know that I wasn’t prepared for things to go the way they have and that I’d like to know how he feels about where we are at and what he would like to see happen in the foreseeable future.  I’m going to make it perfectly clear that I do not want any sort of serious commitment, nor do I want monogamy from him, or any sort of fidelity for that matter.  I’d just like to know where we stand, so that I can decide for myself what to do next.

I wish we’d talked more before we jumped into this.  I should have asked him what he was hoping to get out of us playing, and if he is even open to the idea of dating someone who is poly and already married.  Hindsight is always 20/20 that way.
