Stiletto Diaries

So I’m Easy. Is There Really Any Virtue In Being Difficult?

I haven’t allowed myself time to blog as of late due to wanting to make the most of the final week of summer, not to mention my birthday weekend, which was all kinds of fabulous really.

Tickets to Bedouin Soundclash and Blue Man Group for September comprised part of my birthday gift from Jack.  He also went halfers with me on a new bicycle, so that V and I could start riding together.  I’d seen a specific model in the states that I really wanted, but we couldn’t find it here and I didn’t want to wait until our next trip to America, so I went with my second choice, a Raleigh Matterhorn.

106. Buy a bicycle

V and I went for a spin last night.  Probably my first bike ride in almost ten years.  We rode down to the nearest 7-11 and picked up a jug of milk, which I carried home in the crate we rigged up on the back carrier rack.  It was pretty funny, and even though the ride wasn’t all that long (around half an hour total) my legs were burning by the time we got home.  Clearly I am WAY out of practice.  I am really excited about biking more while the warm weather lasts though, and it’s certainly going to help me get back in shape.

On Friday night Jack took me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday.  V was kind enough to watch the kiddos for us so that we could have a date and some time to ourselves.  We decided to try this Japanese place I’d heard good things about.

I decided to seize the opportunity to accomplish a list item, and ordered a hot sake before our meal.

 Sake

It tasted a bit like vodka, and plum, and finished very much like a strong wine.  It was interesting to try, but I don’t think I’ll make a habit of drinking it, LOL.

435. Drink sake

It was really nice to get out together and have a date.  After we had eaten we went to a local pub and had a drink together.  We were actually planning on spending a few hours there together, but the service was so dreadfully slow we gave up after our first round and went home to drink instead.

The three of us stayed up late into the night of course, talking and laughing and playing Yahtzee.  It was a very good way to begin my birthday weekend!

On Saturday we celebrated with cake and with buying my bike and some accessories (like the aforementioned rear rack, and a kickstand).  Later that evening V and I went out to a bar I’d been wanting to check out, and we had a great time there.  The atmosphere is right, the drinks are cheap, and there are plenty of attractive males to look at.  We danced some, but spent most of the night sitting on the patio, enjoying the very warm night, and meeting a number of new people.

When we stumbled out into the street after the bar closed, the first mission on our minds was street meat, followed by finding a cab ride home.

We wandered through a sea of people downtown, until we came across a hot dog cart.  I loaded my sausage down with sauerkraut, bacon bits, ketchup, and mustard.  We wandered down the street in the hoped of hailing a cab while we ate.  Eventually we found one that wasn’t occupied and made it home, where we discovered that neither of us had house keys.  I called Jack on his cell phone and he came down to let us in, and then promptly went back to bed.  I followed soon after, falling into bed beside him around 4am.

Sunday was a laid back kinda day.  V and I went to Mississauga in the afternoon to do some shopping.  I picked up some things at Lush, including shampoo for my dreads and some skin care items.  V picked up shampoo at the Aveda store, and we looked at shoes and clothes together for a while.  When the mall closed we got a table at Earl’s and had a martini while we waited for Jack and the kids, who were meeting us there for supper.

It was dusk by the time we finished eating, which was perfect since we were going to the Chinese Lantern Festival that evening in Toronto.  It was a fairly quick drive to Ontario Place from where we were, but traffic and parking nearby were horrific due to the exhibition in Toronto.  We found a spot sort of nearby, and we didn’t mind the walk at any rate.

The lantern festival wasn’t cheap by any means (we had a coupon for $3 off per person and they let our littlest one in free, and it still cost us $83) but it was SO worth it.

250. See the Chinese Lantern Festival in Toronto

Honestly, if you have the opportunity to see it, GO!  It’s not the kind of thing you go back to every year, but certainly a ’see it once’ at least.  Also, the kids had a ball, and loved every minute of it.

We all grabbed ice cream at the end before we headed home.  The little ones were exhausted, so we bundled them into bed as soon as we got into the house, and then us adults sat up watching re-runs of 90210 until 3:00 in the morning.

On Monday, my official birthdate, we all went for brunch buffet around noon, and then V and I put the final touches on her bathroom and unpacked most of her things.

That evening we opened a bottle of Ice Cuvee that I’ve been saving, to celebrate.  That bottle was followed with a few glasses of Merlot, and by the end of the night V and I were feeling pretty good, LOL.  It certainly wasn’t as wild or busy as past birthdays, but it was lovely just the same.

Nia gave me the most hilarious pin and magnet, which I will feature here in future Favorite Things.

This Friday Jack and V and myself are going to the Journey concert in Toronto, and then on Saturday Jack is taking to see the Hamilton Ti-Cats (my favorite CFL team) play on their home turf.  Sunday I have tentative plans to go for drinks with a new potential Dom, so lots to look forward to for the weekend!

Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes or left comments here!  It was much appreciated :)

Despite my serious bout of the flu, we decided to go ahead with our trip to the states over the weekend.  I was feeling mostly better, and I didn’t want to pass up the chance to see more of America, and to cross a thing of two off of my bucket list.

After some discussion, we decided to camp out, rather than spending a ton of money on a hotel.  We found a KOA in Lewiston, just across the border from Niagara Falls, and north of Buffalo.  Since all of our camping gear was still together from my weekend at Forbidden, it was fairly quick and painless to pack up.  We planned to eat out the entire time as well, so I didn’t need to worry about groceries or cooking.

We didn’t get on the road until late in the day, but it didn’t matter as we were not in any rush to get there.  If I have daylight for setting up the tent, I am generally content.

Getting across the border took only moments.  The security officer asked us a few questions and basically waved us on.  That makes two really easy border crossing experiences for me.  I’m going to keep up with manifesting that it will be easy every time, since it seems to be working, LOL.

New York State

When we got to the KOA it was dusk.  Jack and I made quick work of setting up, although he has never had to set up this particular tent before, and I have (many times now) so I may have been a tad short with him.  At any rate, once it was up and our stuff was inside, we got the kids ready for bed and I took a quick shower.  We got them bundled into their sleeping bags and then Jack and I sat down and breathed a collective sigh of relief.

I got the fire going, and we sat together for a while and just relaxed.  We were both exhausted from the packing and then unpacking and wrangling of gear and children, so we didn’t linger long.  We were glad to crawl into our bed together and cuddle up to the sounds of the frogs and the crickets outside.

Our children do not believe in sleeping in, so morning came painfully early.

Once we were all dressed and assembled for the day, Mags (the GPS) showed us to the nearest Denny’s.  We all had a satisfying breakfast (and plenty of coffee for Jack and I) and then it was off to Target to do a little shopping.

I fell in love with a black leather hobo style purse, which Jack insisted I purchase (between that and the tickets for Bedouin Soundclash and Blue Man Group I think my birthday gifts are covered).  We picked up a few clothes for the kids while we were there, and a backpack for the littlest one, since she starts school this fall.

There were more stores, but we mostly just browsed.  We were not so much there to shop, as to see if it’s really worth it to cross the border for future purchases.  On some items it certainly is, which is useful information, since it’s only an hour to Buffalo from where we live.

For lunch we headed into downtown, to Anchor Bar, which is the home of the original buffalo chicken wing.  Apparently, before they turned them into the now-popular pub fare, chicken wings were only used in soups or discarded entirely.

Anchor Bar

The place was busy, a testament to its popularity.  The inside of the bar itself is divided into two halves, one being the original and the other being the addition which was built to accommodate the growing business.

We were seated in the original part of the building, the walls lined with photos of celebrities, everyone from Willie Nelson to Hillary Clinton, most of them signed.  There were also countless newspaper articles, awards, and other recognitions bestowed upon the bar, framed and hung on the walls.

Jack and I decided to split a bucket of mild wings (which is really less of a bucket, and more of a platter) which is 50 wings, served with their signature homemade bleu cheese dip.

When the wings arrived we were impressed with the size of them.  Some pubs serve wings that you swear must have come from a miniature chicken because of the diminutive size.  Not so at Anchor Bar.  We also noticed that the wings didn’t have any sauce on them, but instead appear to have been dusted with some sort of a spice blend.  I appreciated that, because it’s less messy, and makes it easier (and less slippery) to eat them.

Anchor Bar Wings

We dug in enthusiastically.  Now, I’ve eaten chicken wings at a LOT of restaurants and pubs over the years, and I’ll say right now, the wings at Anchor Bar truly ARE the best I’ve ever had.  In fact, I am craving them as I write this.  Jack and I both feel that driving an hour and some into Buffalo to eat there again is not an unreasonable date night idea.  In fact, we will likely use any excuse we can from now on to go to Buffalo for wings.  SOOOOO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!

The mild were good, but hardly spicy, which I suppose is the idea.  Next time we shall go for medium and see what those are like.  I am not a fan of food that is so hot I can’t taste anything but pain in the mouth, so I was glad that they offer a mild that is actually mild and not just one step down from wanting to claw my own tongue out.

453. Have buffalo chicken wings at Anchor Bar in Buffalo, where they were invented

Jack and I couldn’t finish the whole 50.  He quit at 23 or so, while I wussed out at only 11.  They were just too huge and I just wasn’t starving enough.  Next time we’ll order a bucket again, but I’ll make sure I have an appetite!

We picked up some coolers on the way out to our campground, and some marshmellows and watermellon for the kiddos.  It had been a really full day, and we were looking forward to relaxing after the kids were in bed.

Back at camp the kids played ball and chased each other around while we sorted out our purchases and put the coolers on ice.  I set up the iPod and the speakers on the picnic table so that we could listen to some music.  As dusk fell I got the fire started so that the little ones could roast a few marshmellows before bed.

After sticky fingers had been washed, pajamas had been buttoned on, and tucking in had been completed, it was just Jack and I by the fire.  We started in on the coolers, and roasted a few marshmellows ourselves.  Then Jack got out the travel chess set we had purchased earlier that day and we sat across from each other at the table and set it up.

Chess Game

Since it was already dark, we were playing in pretty low light, LOL. We didn’t mind though. It was so peaceful being together by the fire with drinks and my slow songs playlist going on the iPod.

The picture above was taken with the flash on, and here’s one taken without the flash, by the light of the headlamp we had perched over the board.

Chess In The Dark

Jack was a good teacher, and we actually played for quite a while before he win the game. I look forward to many more chess games with him in the future, and hopefully my skills will improve and I can win a few times ;)

189. Learn to play chess

After we put the chess game away, we played yahtzee, another mutual favorite. It was a close game, but Jack won again, by three points.

We’d had enough games, and we were getting sore from sitting, so we slow danced by the fire, under the stars. I laid my head against Jack’s chest in the dark while we wrapped our arms around each other and swayed to the soft music.

I left Jack to tend the fire while I trotted off to the showers to have a quick rinse down. I’d been sweating all day in the heat and I don’t like going to bed feeling sticky and gross. The cool water was a welcome relief from the humid warmth of the evening. Once I was sufficiently refreshed, I wrapped myself up in a towel and walked back to our campsite. I remarked to Jack that I missed the freedom I’d experienced at Forbidden, and that being naked outside is something I’d like to relive again as soon as possible.

He took his turn having a shower. While he was gone I got the munchies and opened the package of leftover wings from Anchor Bar. I don’t like cold chicken, but how to reheat it? I stuck one of the marshmallow sticks through a wing and held it over the fire until it began to sizzle a bit. It was actually pretty good, if not time consuming, LOL.

Blackened Chicken Wing

Hot Coals

When Jack returned we had another drink or two and then headed for bed. Once we were settled in, we very quietly fooled around (there is a divider in our tent, but it’s certainly not sound proof) until he made me cum with his fingers. That put me right to sleep until the following morning.

The kids were sad to leave after we packed up our gear and loaded it all back into the van. We took them to a Bob Evans restaurant for breakfast, which was awesome! I had these pancakes that were stuffed with vanilla cream (it claimed to be cream cheese, but it was more like a pastry cream) and then topped with pecans and banana caramel syrup. OMG to die for!

Jack had blueberry french toast with the same vanilla cream and regular syrup and that was delicious too.

Once breakfast was finished it was time to head back to Canada. We hardly had to pause to speak to the border patrol, and he waved us through. Man I am just awesome good luck at border crossings or something.

We were going to take the kids to Niagara Falls, but it was a bit overcast and we wanted to have supper at Earl’s in Mississauga that evening, and Jack needed to stop at home for something, so we decided to save it for another day.

After stopping at the house to use the bathroom and check on the animals, we went to Mississauga for dinner (also amazing, but that’s a given, since we love Earl’s) and Jack showed me where the Princess Auto store is there because I had been wanting to go. Sadly it was closed, but at least I can find it now. Princess Auto is a brilliant source for cheap BDSM stuff if you have some imagination. Cable ties, all sorts of straps and winches, chain, and lots of other little goodies to be found there.

Last week I picked up a fibreglass ’snow pole’ at a farm supply store. It cost me just under five bucks, and it’s a brilliant cane. Jack used it on me last night and it leaves an ouch. It’s heavy, so it’s like a stingy thud, not at all like the bamboo cane I have which is lightweight, even though they are similar thickness. It bruises deep, although it doesn’t welt as much as a traditional cane. I like it a lot, although I think it requires a warm up.

At any rate, it was lovely curling up together last night and getting a good rest together. I woke up feeling really refreshed today.

This evening I have a date with a new man I’ve been chatting with recently. At 49 he’s old enough to be my father, but I don’t put a lot of weight on age anymore. I’m tired of dating boys my age. They are too immature, too moody, with none of their shit together and not enough experience. Older men are just…simpler. They are generally comfortable with themselves, know what they want, and don’t get all caught up in drama. Certainly there are exceptions on both sides, but this man is exactly what I am looking for.

He’s already poly, and kinky, and he’s self contained and confident. He enjoys seduction for the sake of it, and we share a lot of the same thoughts and feelings on BDSM and power exchange. He lives alone, and has several other partners at the moment, which means he won’t be demanding too much of my time, and that he can have guests whenever he wants.

I’m hopeful we will connect as well in person as we have online. It would be lovely to have a play partner again. I feel like I’m already totally over Varick, so this isn’t a rebound situation, it’s just another potential friend and lover.

So I am sure I will have details to share tomorrow :) I will let you know how it goes!

Also only seven more sleeps until my 26th birthday!

Note:  I wrote this post yesterday, with the intentions of publishing it before the day was over, and then Nelek invited me over to his place and I got totally side tracked.  More on that to come, but here’s yesterdays post, today!

I was planning to post a review today…however, the foxy Mz. F (also known simply as F around these parts) has expressed to me the importance of sharing my Susur experience with you instead.  The review can wait, since it would likely be best to post the details of the evening while I can still remember most of them.

Jack and I arrived for our reservation with time to spare.  I had decided to wear this top, along with some very nice fitting black dress pants, while Jack looked incredibly handsome in his business suit (even though I get to see him wear it all the time, it’s still hot as hell).

Due to our timing the matride informed us that they had a better table for us if we were willing to wait a few minutes for them to set it up.  Naturally we didn’t turn that down and took a seat at the small bar in the waiting area while they prepared for us.  The decor and general feel of the place was simple, yet classy.  Not pretentious, although it was clear that this wasn’t the sort of place you’d go to just any old day.  The women were all wearing dresses or dress pants and pretty blouses.  The men were mostly wearing suits or golf shirts and dress slacks.  The waitstaff was highly professional, and you could tell that they had been meticulously trained to preform their tasks just so.  They certainly were nothing like the servers who are working their way towards a better career.  Waiting IS their career in this case, and they do it very, very well.

We were seated in one of the corner booths, which I appreciated, close enough to the kitchen door that I got to catch sight of Susur Lee a couple of times through the evening.  When you’re really into cooking or food or fine dining, it’s like being in the presence of a celebrity.  Jack said that I was practically beside myself with excitement.

To start off we ordered a bottle of wine for the meal.  I was relieved that our waiter did not attempt to ‘up-sell’ us on anything more expensive, nor turn his nose up when we asked for ice water rather than Perrier.  The wine we selected was a bottle of 2006 Dr. Loosen Riesling, which we’ve had before and liked very much.  It’s a German wine, quite sweet, but it didn’t overpower the food at all, which was the point at any rate.

There were two tasting menus being offered for the evening, and so each of us would be getting a selection of slightly different dishes, which would finale with a shared two-tier dessert tray.

I will lay out the courses we had and then comment on them after.  Keep in mind I didn’t take notes so these aren’t going to be 100% detailed, but should give you a general idea:

First Course (pre-course):

Oyster, two ways - Raw oyster on the half shell, marinated in 25 year old sherry ~ breaded oyster, accompanied by house made tartar sauce.

Second Course:

Mine - Rack of lamb, topped with a fruit compote, served over some sort of grilled eggplant

Jack’s - Grilled Bison w/ a lobster-based sauce, accompanied by a shallot and a tomato

Third Course:

Mine - Seared foie gras with a saffron sauce, candied pineapple wedge, and some sort of glazed banana

Jack’s - Seared foie gras with coffee chocolate sauce, candied mango, and a bite-sized pineapple pastry

Fourth Course:

Three kinds of mushroom, served over white asparagus in a cream-based sauce.  Garnished with a wedge of blood orange

Fifth Course:

Raspberry sorbet with balsamic vinegar and sliced strawberries (which was served spectacularly with dry ice, so very elegant)

Sixth Course:

Mine - Ring of battered giant calamari, served over a cream based sauce and topped with a spicy mixed-greens salad

Jack’s - Ring of battered giant calamari, served with mayonnaise and squid ink, and topped with a spicy mixed-greens salad

Seventh Course:

Mine - Seared halibut over a pesto-like sauce, accompanied by an asparagus spear and a slice of steamed leek

Jack’s - Seared halibut with two kinds of sauce (one of them being black truffle based) and some sort of greens (I stopped paying attention because I had tasted my fish and lost my mind with enjoyment).

Dessert Course:

A selection of 9 small desserts, ranging from coffee cake with chocolate ganache filling to passion fruit tart.  All of them were amazing.

So, the entire dining experience took over two hours, and despite the fact that the volume of food would have barely filled a single dinner plate, I was completely full by the end of it.

There were nice pauses between courses, during which Jack and I enjoyed our wine and generally marvelled over the food and the experience.

Jack and I shared pretty much everything, which was interesting in itself because even the slightest difference in preparation, of the exact same food, makes such an incredible difference in the taste.

I think that the foie gras was my favorite, although the texture was totally different than what I expected.  It’s really unfortunate that something so delicious is the result of extreme cruelty to ducks, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to justify eating it again.  I’m still glad that I got to try it, just that once.

The halibut was a very close second, since it practically melted in my mouth.  I could eat that every day and never get tired of it.  Jack’s black truffle sauce was perhaps the most delicious sauce I’ve ever tasted.

When the sorbet arrived Jack and I were both quite taken with the presentation.  Basically it was a small dish of sorbet, perched inside this bamboo trough, which had water and some shards of dry ice in it.  Dry ice in water produces fog, which looks like this.  It was pretty spectacular.

Honestly, it was without a doubt, the best dining experience I’ve ever had.  Plus I got to cross some things off the list!

311. Try raw oysters

162. Eat at Susur

69. Taste Foie Gras

When it came time to pay the bill, I decided to be a little bit cheeky and leave one of my Stiletto Diaries business cards in with the payment.

Jack and I walked back to our car in the rain.  It was such a wonderful evening, one I am certain I won’t forget for the rest of my life.

There are new developments to report in regards to that nice couple I flirted with at Goodhandy’s last weekend!

Before I get into the details, these nice people need some names.  Hmmmm, I think I shall call them Asha and Holt.

So the night before last I got up the cojones to call Asha and talk to her about the possibility of playing in the near future.  It rang, and rang, and my heart was pounding with anxiety, but the good kind.  Her voicemail picked up so I left her a message letting her know it was me and that I hadn’t wanted to wait too long before getting in touch with her.

Some time later my phone announced that a text message had arrived, it was Asha.  We started texting back and forth, exchanging snippets of useful information about each other.

First off, she is only 21, and had assumed I was her age, while I had assumed she was my age.  We had a bit of a giggle over that.  I mean really, 4 years isn’t much of a difference, although I am always a bit wary of young people who are swingers/poly because they tend to not know a heck of a lot about themselves.  However, we all know that age is not a good indication of self-awareness, intelligence, or emotional health.

Holt is 40, although I had guessed he was closer to early or mid 30’s.  They are not married, merely dating, and she has been swinging with him as a couple for about a year.

They don’t live together, but they do play outside of clubs/parties.  They are also into some light BDSM play and seem quite open to just about anything.

It was she who suggested that Jack and I do dinner and possibly more with the two of them at the earliest mutually agreeable juncture.  This is a very exciting opportunity, as I think it would be a lot of fun for Jack and I to play together.  I’m quite confident that Jack will find her attractive, and he’s so charming and sweet, I have no doubt that she will be interested in him as well.

We haven’t set anything in stone at this point, as far as a specific date for getting together.  Holt apparently has a precarious work schedule, and so I told her to discuss his availability with him and get back to me.  She and I are both eager to play some more so I am hopeful that I won’t have to wait too terribly long.  You all know how patient I am ;)

Tonight is dinner at Susur.  Come hell or high water we are not rescheduling again.  We don’t have much planned for the weekend at this point, so this will be a lovely little night out for Jack and I.

Speaking of the weekend, Nia invited me to a Beltaine celebration this Sunday, so I’m hoping that I can attend with her.  I’ve never been to anything like that before, although Nia tells me that it can involve sex outside somewhere, if you’re into that sort of thing.  That reminded me of this song, which Nia and I agree should become the official theme song of Beltaine:

And speaking of songs/music, I’m starting drum lessons sometime this month.  Since drumming is on my list, and I found someone willing to teach me, I might as well get started on that.  My brothers are both musicians (neither of them drummers however) so I’m really looking forward to being able to jam with them sometime.

There is also a hand drumming workshop later this month that Nia and I signed up for.  I am really looking forward to that as well, and it feels really good to be picking up some new talents again.  I like to be constantly learning new things, new skills, etc and lately I’ve felt a bit stagnant in that department, so all of this drumming is just what I need!

I’m off to the gym this morning.  Happy May Day!!!

Sphere: Related Content

Some of you may have seen mention of it on my comments board, but I figure it’s about time I actually blogged about it officially.  After all, it’s a SUPER BIG DEAL, at least to me ;)

Padme is coming to visit me in just over a month!  Master Anakin (her husband and Dom) has already allowed her to book her ticket, and she’ll be staying with Jack and I for almost 5 whole days!

We’ve been discussing plans for her stay, and all of the things we can see and do.  I’m going to take her to the gym with me for yoga class, and we’re going to eat sushi and have a hot oil fondue.  A wine tour, shopping in Toronto, and a sex party at Goodhandy’s are also on the list.  No trip to southern Ontario would be complete without a visit to Niagara Falls, so we’ll fit that in there too I am sure!

Mainly I’m looking forward to getting to spend time with her in person, and having coffee together in the morning.  We have been friends for so long online, it’s going to be wonderful to finally meet in person and hang out.

Another exciting aspect of her visit is getting to cross a few things off of our respective Bucket Lists!  I should be able to finally check off #115. Take a wine tour and perhaps #267. Take home a pastry from Dufflet and #263. Do Vodka shots at Banu as well :D

Naturally #281. Meet Padme in person is the most important of all!

She and I are both counting down the days!  Only 44 days left to go before she arrives :D

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Jack and I ended up having to postpone our dinner plans at Susur until later this week.  It was unfortunate, but not nearly the end of the world since we are indeed still going for supper there, we just have to wait a few days longer to do so.  It’s actually worked out for the best because I am getting over a head cold and if I’m going to spend $140 on a meal, I’d like to be able to taste it.

I apologise as well for the password protected entry that I posted some days ago.  I really do not intend to make a habit of such things, because I really enjoy being able to share parts of my life with all of you.  That said, there were times over the past 2.5 years when I was unable to blog about particular people or topics due to the sensitive nature of the circumstances or individuals.  This was distressing to me, because at the end of the day, blogging is something I do for myself, to work through thoughts or feelings, or even to keep an accurate recounting of events.  Jack and I often refer back on the blog where there is discussion about a certain time or place and we can’t remember what or when, we’ve even used it to figure out who was driving the vehicle when one of those pesky photo radar speeding tickets arrived in the mail.  Perhaps this doesn’t mean much to anyone who doesn’t blog, but for me being unable to retell certain feelings or events due to people in my life who would read it means that there were a lot of really important words I never managed to type out.

Yes, I could have kept them as separate word documents or even written them in my paper journal, but for some reason that just never materialized.  Would it have under different circumstances?  Had I been able to blog about it more openly would I have gotten around to really doing so?  Maybe, maybe not.  The point is that the option wasn’t always there, and now that I have moved (to Wordpress publishing tools with paid hosting) I have a way to write what is on my mind and sometimes keep it to myself.  I don’t do this to exclude everyone, and if you feel strongly enough about reading it you’re welcome to e-mail me about getting a password.  I promise I won’t do it often, since that’s not what this site is about, but I can’t promise I’ll never take advantage of that particular option.

On to more interesting tales now that I’ve cleared that up :)

Last night Nia and I went to another Sex Party at Goodhandy’s.  We met up with her playmate, who clearly needs a name I’m thinking, before we went to the bar, since things never really get going until after 10pm.  Before I continue lets come up with something to call said female friend…hmmm…Flavia.  Makes me think of flavour, which I’m sure she has since Nia spends so much time between her legs.  Hee Hee

So Nia and Flavia and myself arrived at Goodhandy’s and were immediately greeted by Todd, who remarked that now the party could really get started (since the party girls had arrived!  Woot!).  We got drinks and he encouraged us to go and watch the two very attractive young male models/porn stars who were masturbating on either side of the stage.  Being quite keen to encourage them we did just that.  An ex-boyfriend of Nia’s from years and years ago also decided to join us on our night out, although I’m not going to bother giving him a name at this point, so we’ll just call him Nia’s ex.  The four of us sat and chatted, and enjoyed our drinks, us girls frequently gazing at the naked eye candy on stage.  While we were sitting there the lovely couple whom I played with at the last party came in to the club.  They saw me right away and came over to give me hugs and say hello.  She was wearing this very hot corset and I remarked on how fabulous she looked.  I was hopeful that they would be inclined to play again later in the evening but I didn’t want to be pushy.  We agreed to run into each other again later, and off they went.

Meanwhile Flavia and Nia and the ex-boyfriend decided to kick off the spontaneous orgy, or at least a very hot and public threesome for the enjoyment of the crowd.  Some of the males who were watching got a little close, and had to be asked to back off a bit, but nobody had to be thrown out.  Todd is particularly protective of anyone who chooses to play and asked me to let him know immediately if anyone was being bothersome to our group.  In fact throughout the night the bouncers approached me several times to ensure that none of us were being harassed.  It really adds to the atmosphere when you know that you can be comfortable and that the staff there take their jobs very seriously when it comes to ensuring that everyone is well behaved.

One of the male models, who had since put on at least some of his clothes, approached me and introduced himself.  He was really, really attractive, and I was very tempted to accept his invitation to get naked with him.  As much as I wanted to say yes, especially when he asked so charmingly in that yummy accent of his, I politely declined.  Don’t ask me why, I just wasn’t in the right state of mind I suppose, and having intercourse with strange men is not generally a service I provide, no matter how gorgeous they are.

He wasn’t the only one I turned down.  Another of the regular models/porn stars, who was clearly drunk, approached me as well, introducing himself and asking if I wanted to play with him.  I let him kiss me a little before I said no.  Even though he was adorable I don’t like to fuck drunk boys, especially as I said above, drunk boys I don’t know.

The male half of the couple I mentioned early happened to be standing next to me at the bar sometime later in the evening, and leaned over to ask me a question.  The conversation went like this:

Him: So my girlfriend wants to know if we’re going to have Round 2 tonight?

Me: I don’t really know that it’s up to me actually (meaning it was up to them) but I am pretty sure I wouldn’t say no.

Him: Alright, I’ll tell her that

Then I smiled and returned to my friends, expecting to see them sometime shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately I didn’t, although they caught up to me as they were leaving, and after giving me hugs she remarked that she hoped I could play next time.  Confused I said that I could have played, but had assumed they didn’t want to.  He seemed surprised and asked me to clarify what I had said at the bar.  When I told him that I’d meant to imply it was up to them, there were groans of disappointment all around.  We had a bit of a laugh about it, although clearly we were all quite sad that the miscommunication had prevented a good time for all.

“We’ve been talking about you for the past 29 days!” he remarked, smiling but obviously a tad frustrated over the entire situation.  I reassured them, her in particular, that I had certainly not intended to reject that and that certainly I had been eager to play.  Turns out neither of us wanted to be pushy about anything, and in the process, had missed out.

She gave me her number and I promised that I would make my very best effort to attend the next party that they are able to come to as well (which unfortunately isn’t until the end of June, due to other life commitments they have).  We wished each other a good night and they left, followed shortly by the four of us.  Nia was staying in Toronto with Flavia, and I assumed her ex was as well, so I bid them farewell and drove home to my husband, falling into bed exhausted sometime around 4am.

The entire way home I stewed with annoyance over the missed opportunity, and debated in my head the proper thing to do at this juncture.  She gave me her cell number, which I didn’t ask for, she offered.  I really want to call her in a day or two and apologise again for the miscommunication, and assure her that I wasn’t rejecting them.  Then I kind of want to ask if they ever play away from Goodhandy’s?  Like could we all meet up for coffee or something and maybe get to know each other better?

Advice please!  I have no idea what the best course of action is in this situation.  I really, really want to see them again, since I find both of them very attractive (now that I had a chance to get a good look at him).  To any couples out there who are swingers or poly, what would you like a girl you are clearly interested in to do if she and you were in this situation?  The future of my interaction with them, and thus the potential for more hot stories about our fun, depends on you.

Today was a day for relaxation and recovery.  Jack took the kids and I into Mississauga to go to the new Earl’s restaurant that just opened there.  Earl’s was one of our all time favorite places back in Alberta, so we were very excited to hear that one was being opened in Square One Mall this month.

Before we had dinner Jack indulged me with a shopping spree at Lush.  I picked up a couple of small chunks of Ice Blue and Sea Vegetable soaps, which I have heard are good for dreads, so that I could try them both and see which one I like better.  After some more browsing I decided to pick up a couple of their massage bars, which I haven’t had the opportunity to try yet.  When you buy two of them you get a free tin to keep them in, so I went with Wiccy Magic Muscles (for all those sore spots after hitting the gym) and Fever, for those sensual massages I sometimes give to Jack before bed.  Yum!  The girls who worked there recommended I try the Mask Of Magnamintywhen I enquired about trying something new for my skin.  I wouldn’t say that I am prone to breakouts all the time, but I certainly notice them more before my period, so this is apparently just the treatment to have on hand for those times.  No visit to Lush is complete without picking up some bath bombs for the mammoth tub we have.  This time I picked up a Sex Bomb(so good, one of my favs) a couple of Waving Not Drowning and an All That Jaz.  I had to pry myself out of there before I really got out of hand, but I was very pleased when I left with my bag of goodies.

Dinner was really yummy, and afterwards we took the young ones for ice cream.  It was actually a really nice way to end the weekend.  I think I’m going to have a nice hot shower before crawling into bed tonight, since I’ve spent to much time writing about the weekend, and eaten up all the time I had intended to use for having a bath.

This week I am hitting the gym every day, and Thursday night is Susur.  I’m planning to call that nice couple once you guys give me some feedback on how to handle that conversation :P  Or even if you don’t, LOL, since I don’t want to miss out again.  Should be a fairly quiet week overall, and I’ll keep you posted on developments for next weekend!

Shasta: Laundry on the go, one sink of dishes done and a second one soaking right now.
Are you excited about tonight at all?

Jack: Yes, I am eating minimally so I can enjoy a $140/person night LOL

Shasta:I’m going to send you the map to Susur so you can print it :)  So we don’t get lost.
Love you!

Jack: It’s going to be great!

Shasta: I sure hope so, or I am going to be some pissed, LOL

[Begin Amusing Sarcasm]

Shasta: Are you telling anyone that we are eating there?  So that they can think we’re really snooty and extravagant :P

Jack: I haven’t yet. I don’t want them to think I am a snob. LOL
I might drop it to my boss though.

Shasta: You totally should!  By the way…there is a bottle of wine for $3,000 on their wine list.  I nearly choked, LOL

Jack: Let’s get it!!!

Shasta:The Dom Perignon is only $1,000 so lets get that instead, and then I can cross TWO things off the list!!!

Desserts At SusurEarlier this evening I booked dinner reservations for Jack and I at Susur, for tomorrow night.

You see, when I read about Susur months and months ago, on my favorite foodie blog, I fell instantly in love with the idea of eating there.  It was added to My Bucket List in the hopes that one day I could justify the outrageous price via some ultra special occasion.  By special occasion I mean something along the lines of Jack and I renewing our vows…or the day the kids leave the nest.

However, it was drawn to my attention some weeks ago that Susur is scheduled to be closed for business on May 31st of this year. Susur Lee, owner and chef, plans to move to Manhattan and open a new place there.

That news certainly threw a wrench in my plans to cross Susur off of my list anytime in the distant future.  If I wanted to achieve that particular goal, it had better be soon.  Like, tomorrow.

Due to the fact that the restaurant is soon closing, there is only one dining option available; a six-course tasting menu.  If you’re not familiar, a tasting menu is generally a set of dishes prepared by the chef, based on what they feel like making.  You have no input, beyond informing your server of any dietary restrictions.  This is a truly fabulous way to eat, and often the best way to experience the purest talent of the chef in question.  If you’ve never done so I encourage you to try it.

To say that I am giddy about this dinner date is likely the understatement of the year.  In fact, it could prove to be the most incredible dining experience of my entire life.  Lee is one of the top 50 chefs in the entire world.  Seriously, think about that for a moment, it’s amazing!  And I get to EAT HIS FOOD!  I may well explode from excitement to be honest with you.

Certainly you’ll hear more about it later this week, but for now I’ll try to keep my squealing and jumping up and down to myself, LOL.

Beyond the night of the party, I know I haven’t blogged at all about K’s visit or any of the other fun things we did while he was here.  Between actually spending time with him and planning for the party and then having the party and recovering only to fly out to Calgary for an incredible weekend with friends, well, blogging much just wasn’t in the cards.

So, allow me to bring everyone up to speed on the recent happenings :)

K arrived on Friday evening, and when I met him at the airport it didn’t feel at all like 9 months had passed since we’d last seen each other.  On the drive back to my house we chatted about his flight (he’d never flown in a commercial aircraft before) and about Ontario and what sorts of things we were going to see and do while he was here.  It wasn’t awkward at all, which was nice.

On Friday night was a bit of a different story, LOL.  It had been a long time since the three of us were together and as the clothes started coming off I joked that perhaps I had forgotten how to do it.  Clearly they had not since they fell on me like a pair of starving hyenas, and after that all I remember is cumming while K licked between my legs and Jack nibbled my breasts and nipples.  I think they must have fucked me as well, although I can’t tell you in what order or how many times or for how long, HA HA.

Jack was up bright and early on Saturday morning to pick up F, who had taken the red eye out from Calgary.  When they got back to the house we all visited some and then I headed out for my waxing appointment.  My estetician was quite surprised at the lack of regrowth I had, and commented that I should probably space out my appointments by more than 5 weeks so that there would be something there to yank out next time.

After that was finished I went to pick up Nia and her ex-boyfriend.  He needs a letter or a name or something I suppose…we’ll call him Remi.  They were…um…not out of bed yet ;) so I went to fetch coffee while they got themselves untangled and organised for the day.  We all ended up back at my place so that we could do some preparation for the party on Sunday, and generally hang out together.

Jack and F decided to go shopping for something that Jack could wear to the party.  They were gone until much later that night, while the rest of us wrangled children and made snacks for the big event.  Jack and I own a chocolate fountain and we’d decided to loan it out for the party, so we cut up fruit and so forth to go with that.

Nia and Remi went back to her place around supper time, and once the kids were in bed K and I curled up on the couch to watch TV, which led to being naked, which led to having sex several times in the living room.  Yum!

Sunday was of course the party, which I’ve already written about at length here.  Monday was spent recouperating from the loooooong day prior.  Jack and F went to do some sight seeing before he had to drop her off at the airport.  It was so lovely having her here.  Generally Jack hogs all of her time, so I really enjoyed having a chance to hang out with her more myself.

Once Jack got home from the airport, K and I headed down to Niagara Falls.  It was a somewhat cool day, but not freezing.  There was still a lot of ice on the river at the bottom of the falls.  We strolled along the walk way, and I told him about the Dragon Ritual Drummers and the stories of the dragon that lives behind the Falls.  If you haven’t heard of this drumming group they are totally amazing, and I’ll have one of their songs available for download at the end of this post.  I’m hoping to get in on one of their workshops at a local Pagan Festival this summer.

K and I were both starving, so we headed back to the truck and drove around Niagara to find a place to eat.  We settled on this quiet little pub and grill, which served pretty decent food, and was practically vacant.  We laughed a lot and reminiced a little over good memories from our relationship.  We agreed to avoid topics like P or the downhill slide that resulted in us breaking up.  Water under the bridge really, so there wasn’t any point in rehashing all of that.

After a scenic drive back from Niagara, we decided that we finally had room for dessert.  Casey’s has a mile-high chocolate cake to die for and I’d been craving it for days.  I couldn’t possibly finish it all, and K had ordered the Peanut Brownie Sundae, so I took the rest home for Jack.

Luckily he was still awake when we got home, although cake was the last thing on his mind, LOL.  The three of us had a fabulous threesome (I present photographic evidence, which is more efficient than me blathering on and on. The distortions were necessary to hide body art):

Take Me From Behind Baby!

Eventually we all fell asleep, exhausted, but quite satiated.  Can you tell I have a real preference for sex doggy-style?  I think it’s because the boys so love to twist my dreads in their hands and pull my head back while they fuck me like tomorrow will never come.  It’s delicious.  It also allows for spanking, which I enjoy immensely

Tuesday was rather relaxed.  Jack had to work so K and I spent the day recovering from the long weekend.  Tuesday evening was the local kink munch, and K agreed to go with me.  We had a very wonderful time.  I got to visit with some really nice people who I’ve gotten to know at previous events.  A gorgeous Domme, whom I sometimes flirt with, invited me to spend a night in her dungeon.  I’ve never bottomed to a woman before, mainly because I’ve never met one who induced those submissive feelings in me.  Until now.  I’d gladly let her beat on me any night she feels like it, in fact, I intend to take her up on that offer at the first mutually agreeable opportunity.

On Wednesday I woke up feeling…not quite right.  More specifically, my girl parts seemed displeased.  Now, I often joke that I have a stainless steel vagina, because I’ve never had anything go wrong down there.  No irritation, no yeast infections, nothing troublesome in the least, despite some of the strange and varied things I stick up there (I mean sex toys you sickos).  It’s always been perfectly well behaved, the way every pussy should be.

So I passed it off as irritation from ‘overuse’ as V put it ;)  However, after a hot shower and avoiding sex for nearly two days, there was no use trying to pretend.  Something was just not right.  I’d never had a yeast infection before, but after discussing it with Nia I figured that must be the problem.

After thinking about it some, the culprit was decidely the ass-to-vaginal contact that had occurred during the Monday night threesome.  Jack’s penis was in K’s ass and shortly after in my pussy.  Stupid mistake on our parts.  One that I won’t soon repeat.  Let this be a lesson to all of you.  ASS-TO-VAGINA is a BAD BAD BAD idea.  Even if you think your parts are immune to such infections, you’ll be sorry.  I wouldn’t have over-shared all of that with you had it not included a moral :P

Thursday evening K and I got on a plane at Pearson and headed for Calgary.  It was a good flight, and I couldn’t wait to see V.  That, however, is a story for another post.

Beer? After the complete flop that was Loki (he was totally non-committal as far as getting together went and I only had patience for that the first week) I decided not to mention new guys, and waste perfectly good names on them, until something had actually come of it.

So, last night I had a date with a new guy, who I’ve been chatting to for a week or two. He’s not exactly local (he’s an hour and a half away) but close enough that we can hang out once or twice a month I think. Plus we can meet in the middle or he can come out here.

He’s younger than me, only 21, which doesn’t seem like a lot since I am only 25, yet I feel a bit like a Mrs. Robinson**. Perhaps because I’ve already lived through an awful lot of experiences in that short time. He seems fairly innocent, which I’ll admit makes him greatly appealing. Not because I want to corrupt him (ok maybe a little) but because that wide-eyed wonder reminds me that there are still plenty of discoveries to be made.

Before I get into the details of our evening out, he gets a name. Nia lent me a book about choosing names based on astrology and personality types. The guy in question is a Taurus (the highest match for my Virgo self, LOL) and so I’ve decided to christen him Nelek, which means ‘horn’ because it’s amusing, and pretty suitable in my opinion.

Anyway, all of that taken care of, on to the good stuff!

Nelek and I had arranged to meet in his city and then have coffee together and hang out. I made it very clear that I didn’t want to attach any expectations to this date because of my personal rule regarding not putting out on the first date. Really, I prefer the initial meeting to be about getting to know each other, without any pressure or presumptions about sex. He agreed with me on all points, and so a time and place was solidified.

Although I had written out directions for myself, I still got lost, and ended up on his doorstep half an hour late. He told me later that he had assumed I was standing him up. I generally do not go into strangers houses, however, his older female roommate was sitting right there and I had to go pee so bad I couldn’t stand it. He let me in to use his bathroom, and to snorgle his adorable lab puppy.

We drove over to the nearest Tim Horton’s and grabbed a coffee and a seat. The conversation was light and entertaining, and he was certainly easy on the eyes. We seemed to hit it off, and had plenty of things to say. There were no awkward silences, which was a bonus.

Eventually the conversation became a little racy for the crowd at Tim’s and we decided we’d better relocate before we started getting stared at (not that I mind). I suggested we check out a sex store, since that seems like a perfect place to go on a first date, LOL.

He directed me to a place nearby. A nice little non-chain place with a great selection. I picked up some penis chocolate moulds for my upcoming party, and we browsed the toys and lingerie. Found out he’s a big fan of costumes, and sexy games. Clearly he needs a little schooling, since he doesn’t know a lot about kink and he’s never purchased a sex toy, but that will come with time.

We left the store and drove around some, just talking and getting to know each other more. At one point we stopped at a park to wander outside but it was far too cold, and so that lasted all of 5 minutes before we hopped back into the truck.

I asked if there were any diner’s open where we could grab some nibbles. He suggested a place he knew and off we went. It was a typical 24-hour eating establishment, but there isn’t much open that late at night, LOL. We flirted over french fries, discussing past relationships and hobbies and all manner of random topics. It was decided that once we were done at the diner, we would find someplace to park and talk some more. I still had time to burn and neither of us wanted the date to end quite yet.

We ended up in an unlit parking lot and sat there chatting for quite some time. There was certainly flirting, but neither of us were brave enough to make a move. Silly really, but after some posturing and nervous glances we managed to get the initial kissing out of the way. After that, the awkwardness melted away and we spent some time making out like teenagers in the front seat. Kissing led to groping, which eventually led to his hand down the front of my jeans while I screamed bloody murder and came all over his fingers. I returned the favour in kind, making him twitch under my touch while nibbling his lower lip.

We were both satisfied and breathless, and since it was well into the wee hours of the morning, I decided I should start the long trek home. I dropped him off and kissed him goodnight before grabbing another coffee and driving back to my place. I crawled into bed beside Jack at 3:30am, exhausted but content.

All in all, I felt it went very well (the fooling around aside). I enjoyed his company very much, and it seems that he enjoyed mine as well. He’s also quite open minded, and willing to try new things. It’s too early to speculate on where this is going, but I’m generally optimistic.
