“The sensation was what I predicted—it certainly felt like bulbs popping in and out—but it was super pleasurable, much more so than the sensation of leaving a butt plug in my ass. This, I thought, is what they mean when they say anal play feels amazing.”

A few months before the birth of this website (now almost 3 years old!) I purchased my first pair of stiletto heeled shoes.  Being more of a chunky shoes girl prior to then, these were a bit of a stretch, but I was looking for something hot to wear to a wedding and these certainly fit the bill.

The title of this blog was originally inspired by these particular shoes, and the soft-core porn series that Jack and I used to watch together on Friday nights, titled ”The Red Shoe Diaries”.

These sexy little heels have seen a lot of action over the years.  I wore them to my first sex party at Goodhandy’s, where they were slung over the shoulders of a very orally talented man.  I wore them to a recent play party, and on any number of dates and other sexual escapades.  They remain my very favorite pair of hot-as-hell heels.  I hope they last to see me through another 3 years of debauchery and blogging!

Pleasurists #3

There’s a new round-up in town.  Recently Pleasurists has begun posting weekly product review compilations from sites all over the place.  I think this is an awesome idea, and great way to draw attention to information that readers are interested in (I know that personally I get TONS of awesome feedback on product reviews).

Here’s the current list of offerings (you’ll recognize my contribution down in the lube/massage oil section).  Enjoy :D

Leo - A Sex “Toy Review by N

As we were looking around, I spotted him. “He” stood 7? inches with 1-½” girth and was perfectly poised on the intricately designed shelfing unit. I almost blushed and forgot all about the girl I came in with.”

I only have a few moments to dash off a sentence or two here.  My friend arrived yesterday and we’re having a ball together.  We stayed up late last night catching up on all that’s going on with each other.  We also have a number of mutual friends from back home so she gave me the updates on all of them.  It’s been lovely having her here.

Today we wandered to an area where some of her distant relatives lived decades ago, and we found some of her ancestors in a cemetery nearby.  It was interesting to see, and I just love taking photographs in cemeteries, even if that’s kind of weird.  She thought I might be bored, but I really haven’t had time to take any autumn photos this year, so I jumped at the chance to spend an afternoon amongst trees with my camera.

Even though I am sure some of you find all the photos tiresome, I may post a couple of them here next week.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good weekend.  Take a peek at my Twitter if you’re interested in what I am up to while I am not blogging :)

It’s been a busy week, and weekend, hence the total lack of blogging.  I’ve had a really wonderful birthday weekend, complete with gifts and cake and drinks and all sorts of fabulousness!

There are pictures to get posted and I’ve crossed off a few list items which I want to tell you about, but it’ll have to wait a day or two.  While I have a moment, I’d like to express my gratitude to a few people who made this birthday particularly memorable.

Thank you Jack for making this a really amazing weekend for me.  You’re so loving and generous, I hope you know how special you are to me and how much I love and appreciate you :)

Thank you V for being you, and for your friendship.  You inspire and motivate me on a daily basis, and you’ve really added a great deal to our lives this past month.  I’m so thankful to have you here, and to be able to share this birthday with you.

Thank you Padme, for the sweet birthday wishes and for the phone call this morning.  Even across the miles you are one of my two very dearest friends, and I am glad to have you to talk whenever I need an understanding ear.  You are so thoughtful and genuine and I want you to know that you mean a great deal to me.

You guys are awesome, and I am better for knowing each one of you.  This birthday wouldn’t have been nearly as great without you guys!

XOXO

I’m writing this from bed while my body works to fight off whatever bloody bug I’ve fallen victim to.  It started yesterday afternoon, when I began feeling ill, fluish, and fatigued.  I drug myself upstairs to check out the situation with a thermometer, and it said I had a fever of 102 degrees.

So I went to bed early, although I hardly slept.  At 1:30am I was feeling so hot I couldn’t stand it, so I crawled out of bed, staggered to the shower, and sat under lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes.  I don’t think that Jack slept much either, with all my tossing and turning and the fact that he may as well of been cuddled up with a very hot water bottle.

This morning he decided to work from home today so that he would be able to care for me and keep the kids occupied, not to mention running V to the airport later so that I wouldn’t have to.  Such a wonderful man.

Hopefully whatever it is passes quickly, as we had hoped to drive down to Buffalo, NY this weekend and do some shopping, and maybe have chicken wings at the very bar where they were invented (or at least first served outside of soup).

<Insert time lapse of many hours, most of which spent laying on the couch or sleeping in bed>

Still feeling like I was run over, several times, by something heavy.  Like, a tank.

My fever has gone down some, and hopefully it stays that way.  The shaky, weak, shivery, hot-then-cold-then-hot-then-cold feelings have remained.  Right now I feel like I am baking in my own skin, and I am clamy.  So weird.

V left for Calgary today, courtesy of a birthday gift flight.  I am sad that she’s gone for her birthday but clearly I will be in no shape to party with her tomorrow, so it’s just as well.  Besides, I’d go back for a visit in a heartbeat if the opportunity was presented, so I don’t blame her one bit.

Jack has been brilliant today.  He fetched me water, and food, and my laptop, and anything else I demanded.  He also attempted to ‘fuck me better’ despite the risks of catching this horrid disese himself.  So selfless, that husband of mine.  Also, vaginas are extra hot inside during a fever, which makes sense ya know.

Just in case I have anthrax, all my sex toys are to be distributed equally among my female friends.  Boys, you can have my outragous collection of panties.

It was humid and far too warm in our tent by the time we woke up Wednesday morning.  After getting ourselves out of bed and at least mostly awake, we took down our campsite and then headed for the bathrooms to shower and get dressed before we hit the road.

While we were getting the last of our things loaded into the truck, our friendly campsite owner came by and invited us in for a cup of coffee.  V gave me a knowing look and told him that while she isn’t a coffee drinker, I would likely require it to survive the rest of the day.  He told us to come on in when we were ready and went to find some styrofoam cups.

He was so very personable, and we talked for at least half an hour about Nebraska and where we were headed.  The coffee was much appreciated on my part, and when we bid him a good day we promised to stop by if we were ever passing through again.

Lincoln, Nebraska (home of Jack’s all time favorite college team, the Huskers) was our first destination of the day.  I had hoped to get him a jersey there, and some photos of the stadium.

On our way, I thought I saw something flying through the air, off in the distance.  When we got closer, I realised it was a crop duster (which I have never personally seen in Canada).  We enjoyed watching him swoop and circle before buzzing low over the fields.  Whatever it is they spray smells like mothballs and I am sure it wasn’t really good for us to be driving by with the windows open, but whatever.

When we stopped at a gas station along the way, we were amused to come across a bottle of water declaring that we had indeed found the middle of nowhere, and a packaged individual sausage. The sausage was really only funny because of the name, and we actually thought it was quite tasty.

There were also a plethora of hilarious signs along the way, including Tongue River, Dix, and a few which I managed to snap photos of.

Ok maybe that last one won’t be amusing to anyone else, but we found it funny.

There was also a LOT of corn in Nebraska. And of course, more pylons.

When we eventually made it to Lincoln, we were stopped at a red light when a guy hollered from the truck next to us.

“Where did you get that picture of me?” he asked, referring to the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror (it’s one of those muscular half-naked man fresheners). He was chuckling from the drivers seat of an older pickup.

“In Calgary, Alberta” V replied, while we both giggled. “That’s a pretty good picture of you” she added.

“Well it was taken a few years ago” he said with a grin. We laughed and since the light had turned, headed on our way. For the rest of the trip every so often one of us would randomly say “Hey! Where did you get that picture of me?” and then giggle.

I didn’t get Jack a jersey, but I did get him a mini helmet, a really nice Huskers wall plaque thing, one of those flag type banners, a shot glass, a key chain (V bought him that one) and a Nebraska quarter. He was very happy with said gifts, which were for his recent birthday.

V and I stopped for supper and discussed our plan for the rest of the day. We were somewhat behind as far as the schedule of the trip went. We had plans to take a guided tour of Chicago the next day, and yet we were hours and hours away.

We decided to drive later that we normally liked to, and then spring for a hotel that night in Des Moines, Iowa. That way we wouldn’t have to worry about setting up a tent in the middle of the night or finding a cap ground or any of that.

Sunset - Day 4

Unfortunately I did not get a photo of the Iowa sign, which was over top of the interstate in the middle of Omaha.

We made it to Des Moines, and Mags (the GPS) guided us to a Holiday Inn, which didn’t allow pets, but we smuggled the ferret in anyway. Fortunately she fits easily inside V’s purse.

It was heavenly to sleep in air conditioning after driving in humidity all day. V and I both had a shower before bed, since we didn’t feel like crawling into the sheets all coated with sweat and dust. I’d dare say it was the best night sleep we had the entire trip.
