Wild Weekend: Day 1
Posted on June 16th, 2008 in Are You Gonna Eat That?, Does All Her Own Stunts, Emotional Angst, Life List, Made In Ontario
I’m sure at least some of you are looking forward to hearing the details of Padme’s visit to the GTA. I’ve decided to break up the stories into different days, since the post would be miles and miles long if I tried to fit it all into one
Thursday was filled with angsty excitement while I got ready for her arrival. At the appointed hour I departed for the airport, only to get delayed in traffic THREE TIMES! Damned 401 and the annoying people driving on it. I didn’t want Padme to arrive and start panicking when I wasn’t there to meet her, so I called ahead to the airport to leave a message that I was on my way but was going to be a little late.
She was already in the waiting area when I dashed into the terminal. It was so exciting to finally meet her in person and give her a big hug!
281. Meet Padme in person
We were both a little nervous I think, but conversation came easily while we walked back to the car and headed to my home. I was looking forward to showing her the new house and taking her on a tour of the city.
Once we arrived she was able to settle in and take a shower and have a cup of coffee. We sat and visited for a while, and it was so nice to talk face to face. When Jack got home from work Padme and I were able to leave for supper at one of my favorite sushi joints.
It was really neat having sushi together, and we ordered all kinds of food and chatted for what seemed like hours. We laughed and gossiped like a couple of teenagers. We ate far too much sushi, and by the time we left to go back to my place we were both sluggish and a bit tired, LOL.
The rest of the evening was spent visiting at my house in the living room. We were both pretty tired, so we headed to bed at a fairly decent hour, since we had quite a few plans for Friday.
All of that, however, will have to wait until tomorrow, since I’m bagged and headed to bed with a certain naked man. Yum!

Shasta,
It was so hard to say goodbye to you yesterday and come back to Vancouver after an amazing weekend full of many adventures and fun times and being able to spend time with you. I cried as the plane left Toronto to come back home. I am crashing a lot today and having a very hard time coming back to reality. I plan on doing many blog posts about the trip and will have to also do it in parts as there is just way too much to cover to fit into just one post.
Thursday was really wonderful being able to meet you and see your family and house and then your neighborhood and then going for Sushi. That was only day one and I know I was so excited and happy to be able to finally spend some time with you for real after knowing each other for so long!
I can’t wait to read your other posts. I really hope I can fit in some time to blog today. I still need to upload my photos from the trip and unpack.
I have so many memories from the trip that I will forever cherish and I hope that this is the first of many more trips so we can spend more time together sometime. I feel closer in our friendship and I hope you know that you are my very best friend and I had the most fabulous time this last weekend!
XOXOX
luv padme
