Where have I been?
I hadn’t planned on taking such a long hiatus from this place, but a combination of circumstances have come together to prevent much in the way of writing, and before I knew it we’re 3 days into June and May was completely gone. Gone, and I’d hardly done a lick of writing. While it’s a bit depressing, to be honest, I’ve been glad for the break. I haven’t felt like writing, and so I doubt any of my posts would have been worth reading.
This is such a busy time of year for us. Presently my aunt is visiting us from Alberta for 12 days, which doesn’t afford me a lot of time for anything but playing the gracious hostess. Between soccer and doggie play dates and homework and walks, I haven’t even been updating Twitter regularly.
After adopting our greyhound and discovering what a wonderful and easy to maintain pet he is, we decided to really up the ante and adopt a second greyhound. We signed the papers on Sunday, and our new addition should be home within the next week. Honestly, if Jack would let me, I’d adopt as many as we could afford. I love these dogs! A good deal of my time is actually being devoted to assisting the rescue and making new friends through the greyhound community online.
It couldn’t really have come at a more opportune time really, as V is making preparations to move back to Calgary at the end of this month. Certainly I am sad to see her go, but I don’t feel that I will be alone in her absence, which makes it easier to swallow. I have Nia, and my friends in the kink community, and new friends in the greyhound community. I know I’ll be ok. It won’t be easy, but it also won’t be as bleak and depressing as it might have been had she not moved out here at all.
The days seem to pass by so quickly. I keep telling myself that things are going to slow down again, but at this rate, that may not happen until September.

You make me wanna adopt a greyhound too!
I doubt my hubby will be pleased. What with our cat and dog, he’s had enough of pets lol

I think when our current dog passes on, we may adopt a grayhound. My wife thinks they are funny looking, but I kind of dig them.
