Jack And Shasta 101
Posted on February 19th, 2009 in Meme
I’ve seen a couple of different relationship-type memes on a few of blogs I read, and I thought they were cute. I was bothered that there were different questions in each one, so I melded them together into this ;) Feel free to use it on your own blog if you like! It spurred some laughs and good discussion here at my house.
Who eats more?
Currently? Jack - since I’m on this raw foods thing and now my stomach capacity is about 1.5 cups of food. Normally? Still Jack LOL
Who said “I love you” first?
Jack did. We’d only been dating for about 2 weeks, and when he said it I was surprised, and actually a little put-off. I replied “No you don’t! You don’t even know me!” to which he responded “Well what I do know about you, I love” and that was that.
Who is the morning person?
Jack, although I do like mornings once I am up.
Who sings better?
Me, according to him. I think that really, we both sound like cats caught in a fan belt.
Who is older?
Jack is 7 years older than I, which makes him a filthy and devious cradle-robber
Who is smarter?
It’s a draw. Jack and I are both highly intelligent, just in different ways. He’s more math and science minded, while I am very creative, and excel in arts and the written word.
Who has the worst temper?
I do. I tend to become more easily agitated, and I’m certainly more vindictive.
Who does the laundry?
Jack does his laundry, I do mine. V does her own and the kids. This way nobody can complain about not having clean clothes. Incidentally, he also does his own ironing.
Who does the dishes?
Jack, V, and I have a schedule for dishes. We all take turns doing them, because we feel that is the most fair. Mind you, Jack only has to do them three times a week, while V and I split up the remaining times.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Right side while we are laying in it or right side when we are looking at it? Do you mean right side as opposed to the wrong side? How does one determine if a side of the bed is ‘right’ or ’wrong’? What about the middle of the bed?
Joking aside, if you mean right side while laying in the bed, he does. We have switched it up a number of times over the years, depending on the layout of our bedroom.
Who has larger feet?
Jack = size 13
Shasta = size 9
Who has longer hair?
In the back we’re pretty close to the same, but I keep my bangs longer in the front. He has much longer facial hair, however
Who is better with the computer?
I am, although he kicks my ass at Excel. When it comes to problems or getting it to work properly, he generally comes to me for assistance.
Do you have pets?
Indeed. A gerbil and a betta.
Who pays the bills?
Jack, although most of the bills are in my name. Very occasionally I might make a payment on my Visa card, but for the most part, he takes care of that.
Who cooks dinner?
Generally I do. V usually helps me. Jack is wonderful about taking over when I am sick, away, or not inclined.
Who drives when you are together?
We take turns, although I’d say that Jack does the lions share, if only because I really enjoy being a passenger.
Who pays when you go out to dinner?
Jack, for the most part, although I pay once in a while, like when he forgets his wallet in the car. Remember that, honey?
Who is the most stubborn?
I’d say we’re pretty even, V agrees, but he thinks I’m the more stubborn one. We can both be very pig-headed and rigid with our opinions and ideas, but fortunately, we don’t generally get that way over the same issues.
Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
Honestly, it’s usually Jack. Not to say that I never admit it first, but I can’t deny that he’s most often the one to get over being angry and apologise, before I do. Also, it helps that I am usually right
Which side of the family do you see more?
Before we moved to Ontario, I would say Jack’s family. Being around them is less stressful for both of us, and I prefer them over my own parents. Now that we live here, I think it’s pretty much even.
Who named your pet?
The gerbil was second-hand, and came with a name. V and I named the fish.
Who kissed whom first?
Jack kissed me first. Being somewhat ass-backwards, we were actually already in bed together, mostly naked, before the first kiss even occurred.
Who asked whom out?
Jack asked me out. Or rather, he asked me to spend the weekend at his place with him.
Who is more sensitive?
Jack. He tends to wear his heart on his sleeve, I tend to be crass and less emotional. If any of you are familiar with colors (in relation to personality types) I am green-blue, while Jack is blue-green.
Who is taller?
Jack = 6′5
Shasta = 5′5
Who has more friends?
I suppose I do. Jack is less social than I am, although he does have a number of friends from childhood, while I do not. He generally makes friends at work, while I network more socially, within the kink community or other groups.
Who has more siblings?
I have 2 brothers and a sister, a half-brother and a half-sister. Jack has 2 brothers, a ‘brother from another mother’ (he lived next door and they all grew up together, participated in each others weddings, etc. I consider him a brother-in-law) and a sweet gal who was like the sister he never had. All said and done, I think I have more, technically.
Who has had more sexual partners?
I’m definitely the slut of the house
Where was your first date?
Boston Pizza, in Red Deer, Alberta. Then I went back to his place in Calgary and spent the weekend.
Who is more jealous?
I am, no doubt about it.
How long did it take to get serious?
About 3 weeks. Or at least, that was the point at which Jack objected to me sleeping with other men.
Who is the neat-freak?
V. Oh wait, you mean between Jack and I? Hmmm, I think that Jack likes things neat, as long as he doesn’t have to do the tidying :P I will tidy, but only because I don’t like to live in squalor.
Who hogs the bed?
Just last night Jack had to wake me up to tell me to shove my ass over. What does that tell you?
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Pubs or sushi restaurants, depending on what we feel like.
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Calgary to Toronto
Who has the craziest exes?
Me, without question. Most of the men I have dated need a combination of serious therapy and regular medication.
Did you go to the same school?
No. Jack graduated with a degree from the University Of Alberta. I just pretended to go to community college until they kicked me out for failing to even remove the cellophane wrapping from my text books.
Are you from the same home town?
Nope. I grew up in small town Alberta, on a farm no less, and Jack grew up in the big city.
How long have you been together?
In January we celebrated 8 years of togetherness.
How long did you know each other before you started dating?
A couple of weeks I think. At first I wasn’t interested in him at all, but as we talked more and got to know each other, he seemed less like a freaky old pervert and more like a genuinely nice man. Boy was my judgement off there.

Hi Shasta,
It was neat to read your answers to the meme. Very strange though. Your meme had several more questions on it than the one that I did about relationships. I might have to add onto mine with all the extra questions.
I miss you. Hope we can catch up sometime.
Hugs,
padme

Hey Thanks for commenting. As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, I took questions from a couple of different memes and put them together into one, so that is why mine had additional question on it.
XO,
Shasta

Reading this makes me wish I was there hanging out with you guys getting to know you through conversation instead of a meme.
The places we hung out made it hard to have a decent conversation. Apart from the evening chatting over coffee with you three.
I felt like I did not have enough time to hang out. Looking forward to future times over coffee or booze lol
