Creepiest bloody ad I’ve EVER seen. It made me feel ill, and now I will forever think of penises as hairy, disembodied tentacles to be avoided at all costs.

Wow that was really disturbing and kind of graphic in a way. I’m just used to American commercials I guess. I’m a media productions/communications major and study semiotics (theory of messages within advertising) and this is an extremely interesting piece. The penis is, like you said, a tenticle but it still doesn’t look completely like a penis. There is no head, urethra, or veins that I see but there is hair and some freckles or moles. Interesting how the message would be more disturbing if it looked more like a real penis!

Although I think it’s a great ad in catching attention about a HORRIBLE thing – you think tentacles I think snakes and it gives me the icky shivers

that’s exactly how it feels. it creeps in when you least expect it, and it never ends.
it’s one of the first ads about sexualised abuse of children i’ve seen that is so graphic, yet stylised. very effective. i may just yoink it for my own blog.
