Toy Lust TuesdaysI’ve heard a lot of great things about Tantus silicone toys, and after having a go with the Feeldoe, I was eager to try some of their other items. Thus, the Tantus Silk Medium Dildo came into my possession via Pleasure Me Now. This particular Tantus actually comes in three sizes (small, medium, and larger) and a couple of different colors. They are made out of very high grade silicone, and perfectly smooth to the touch. Very attractive.

This particular design is curved slightly, ideal for prostate stimulation or for stimulating the G-Spot. It’s slender, and the wide base makes it perfectly compatible with most ring-style harnesses. It also provides something to hold on to for manual use, and prevents it from going too far in during anal play.

Tantus Silk DildoJack and I tested out this toy with one of our strap on harnesses and we enjoyed it very much! The silky smooth feel of this toy makes anal very comfortable, and I liked that I could select the perfect size for what we wanted.

Tantus toys are also very easy to clean. A little antibacterial soap and warm water will do it, or you can boil this toy for a couple of minutes (do NOT leave it unattended during that time, it’s easy to forget and ruin your play things).

Another important reminder, never use silicone based lubricant on your silicone toys. Water based lubes are the only type that I recommend for these toys. Please also be sure to keep your toys away from anything sharp which could pierce or otherwise damage the surface of the toy. Nia’s cat chewed on a lovely Tantus butt plug she owned, completely ruining it. Once the surface has been compromised, you can no longer effectively sterilize it.

Used alone or with a harness, this particular Tantus toy is certain to offer you years of anal or vaginal pleasure (provided you care for it well).

Toy Lust TuesdaysI’ve been eyeing up a certain rear end toy for some months now. “Can a person really have too many sets of anal beads?” I asked myself, while browsing the products at Buy Vibes. The answer was, of course not, and so Flexi Felix (made by Fun Factory) found his way to my doorstep and later, between my cheeks.

What makes him different from other toys of this nature? Well Felix is made out of high-grade silicone, unlike most anal beads, which are made of plastic, or a rubber derivative. This means Felix is easily sterilized, which is oh so important when it comes to things that go in your butt. You can even boil him, but some antibacterial soap and warm water should be enough to keep him clean and ready for action.

Flexi FelixFelix also has a very ingenious ‘handle’ unlike most anal beads, which makes me less nervous about the possibility of loosing him up inside myself. His eyes also provide handy loopholes for your fingers, for those climactic moments when you want to quickly (or slowly) yank out the whole string.

Speaking of string, promise me that you will never, ever, EVER purchase an anal toy that has uncoated string between the beads/balls. Some stings are coated in silicone (like on the smart balls) which protects the fibres from bacteria and fecal matter, which are difficult to remove from such a porous material. I don’t know about you, but the idea of icky little microbes having a hay day in/on any of my toys makes me want to writhe with disgust. Just, don’t do it. If you have such a toy I beg you to throw it away.

The beads of Felix are fairly small, making it ideal for beginners to anal play, or those like me who don’t need much to enjoy the sensation. Please remember not to use silicone lubricant on Felix, since it will ruin him. Water based lubes are fine.

I really enjoyed this little toy. He doesn’t look like much but man does he deliver. He’s small enough to hang out comfortably in my rear end while having vaginal intercourse, and his smiling face never fails to make me feel all tingly inside. He’s very flexible and even a little bit stretchy, which makes him all the more appealing.

Swag Fetish FridaysIt seems like it’s been forever since I last posted a review. It was difficult to focus on much else with all the craziness of the holidays and Jack being home all that time. Anyway, it’s nice to be back in the swing of things, and to kick off 2008, I’m giving you a run-down of the Glass Gem Peridot Glass Dildo. Thanks to Spicy Gear, this is the second glass toy to find it’s way between my legs.

Do you know what I really like about glass toys? The ease of cleaning, and the infinite possibilities they present for sensation play (particularly related to temperature). Cleaning them with anti-bacterial soap is as easy as can be, and if you are particularly concerned about bacteria, they will happily withstand a rigorous boiling in water, or a run through the dishwasher. Put them in the fridge (not the freezer if you intend to use them internally, although it’s ok for external, I’ll get to that later) for some fun play with cold, or run it under hot water to warm things up.

Glass Gem Peridot DildoYou can also use either silicone or water-based lubricant with glass. Generally as long as you never scrub them with anything super abrasive, these toys will last your lifetime (and beyond, if you care to will them to someone, LOL).

As I mentioned above, sensation play is delightful. Just imagine having the ice cold glass tip of this toy run up your back, or between your legs…I shiver just thinking about it. A word of caution when it comes to freezers and glass toys. Leaving your toy in the freezer for half an hour before play can certainly provide some intense and erotic sensations, however it’s actually possible to cause hypothermia when playing with very chilled glass (or ice for that matter). Never leave it inside the anus or vagina for any period of time if it has been in the freezer. The fridge is fine, since it’s not cold enough to lower the core temperature of the body. It may seem unlikely to occur, but lets not take any stupid chances.

Playing with ice can be a great deal of fun, but sometimes it’s not convenient or too messy/drippy/wet. Under those circumstances a glass toy is a terrific stand in. The same results, minus the water everywhere. Just keep in mind what I said above about hypothermia.

Heat also presents a lot of excellent possibilities. Please do not boil this toy and then try to use it for sexual play. If you can’t comfortably hold it in your bare hand, do not put on an oven mit and then apply it to some sensitive part of you lover. Running it under tap-hot water for a few minutes, or leaving it in a sink or bowl of water (no hotter than you’d be willing to bathe in) for a bit before play is more than adequate to heat it up. Heat + Anal = Very Nice.

If you want to add a little more bang to this fun, ribbed, little gem, get yourself a vibrating cock ring and put it around the base. Extra yum!

I really liked the loop ‘handle’ on the base of this dildo. It makes it easy to hold onto for thrusting, and it will also act as a base, to prevent losing it inside during anal. The shape is unremarkable, but the rippled texture adds a lot of stimulation. It’s also VERY reasonably priced, which is not the case with a lot of glass toys currently on the market.

Toy Lust TuesdaysDo you know what this blog needs? More anal toy reviews! Woohoo. To assist me on my quest to bring you the best in back door bedroom bling, Pleasure Me Now sent me the Kobe Tai Anal Adventure Kit. The idea behind this kit is to provide a variety of anal toys suitable for beginners, right up to more experienced individuals. Buying a sex toy kit is generally cheaper than buying toys individually, sort of like buying a boxed set of dinner wear, or wrenches. You get a good taste of several different toys you may not have otherwise considered. Plus if you are feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of styles and sizes available out there, this sampling will help you find out what you like or don’t like.

First, lets take a look at what this package offers. To begin with, a bottle of anal lube. Basically your run-of-the-mill water based lubricant. Anal lube is often of a thicker consistency than lube designed for vaginal use. Nothing to write home about here, similar to KY gel. I know that there are some anal lubes available that are designed to desensitize or numb the anal area, and I plead to you, NEVER USE THEM! If you are in pain during anal sex, you’re doing it wrong. Seriously. Damage to your anus can easily occur if you are numbed to the discomfort, even minor tears to the opening can become infected and result in awkward visits to your doctor or hospital. This is easily avoided by passing on the desensitizing lubes and listening to your body’s signals during any ass play.

Kobe Tai Anal Adventure KitNext there is a set of anal beads, and these unassuming little gems are a load of fun. There is a well-known technique often recommended that involved rapidly pulling the string of beads out of your partners behind as they are climaxing. It’s a totally incredible sensation. Highly recommended. As an aside, never, ever purchase anal beads with string between the beads. Unless it is well coated in silicone, it will harbour bacteria and other gross stuff. Bleh, just avoid it all together.

Two butt plugs, in different sizes and shapes are also included. They are both quite small in size, perfect for beginners. These are the sorts of toys you should start with if you are new to anal play.

Last, there is a very basic vibrator with two sleeves of different textures. This set is only recommended for people who have done a bit of anal play. The vibrator can be used on it’s own (I would suggest that before trying it with a sleeve) and is easily covered by a condom. Speaking of condoms, I would encourage you to cover all of your anal toys with condoms. Feces, when transferred to your vagina can cause irritation and yeast infections. Transferred to your mouth it can cause E coli, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis E, pneumonia, and influenza. Please be careful when using toys for both your anus and vagina or mouth.

I found the sleeves difficult to get on and off of the vibrator. I would advise sprinkling a little corn starch inside the sleeve before putting it onto the vibrator to assist with removal later on.

This kit is certainly an excellent set for the curious and inexperienced. It’s enough to get you started on your way to a long and fulfilling journey through the joys of anal pleasure. None of the items are too intimidating or scary, nor huge and unusual.

Toy Lust TuesdaysHaving long ago (well, it sort of feels like long ago) tried out the traditional rabbit vibe, I’ve been curious ever since about all of the ‘knock off’ or similarly styled vibes on the market. Finally I’ve gotten around to testing one, courtesy of Spicy Gear. Since I am totally in love with Fun Factory, I chose one of their nifty dual action vibes, called Mary Mermaid. More diminutive in size (at least width wide) than most rabbit vibes, I was curious to give it a go.

All Fun Factory toys are made out of very high grade silicone. This makes cleaning easy, which I appreciate. Mary Mermaid is not water resistance, so I recommend cleaning her with an antibacterial WetOne or else very carefully under running water with some gentle antibacterial soap. I really prefer to use wipes on items that are not waterproof, especially when you’ve invested a fair amount of money in said item.

Mary Mermaid VibratorAnother important point worth mentioning is the durability of the motor(s) in dual action vibrators. It’s generally recommended that to prolong the life of your toy and avoid burning out the motor, you should not run ANY dual action toy for longer than 20-25 minutes straight. Regular vibrators are generally limited at 30-35 minutes. This is one of the top complaints about dual action vibrators, because the more moving parts you have, the faster and easier it is to work the thing to death! If you need to go longer than that, get yourself a Magic Wand, with an attachment, which was designed for periods of longer use.

I really, really liked this vibrator. The only thing that sort of annoyed me about it are the dial type controls for both functions, since they are a bit sensitive and you can accidentally change the intensity by bumping them in the heat of it all. Also, it lacks variety when it comes to the movement of the head of the thing. It basically just goes round and round, while the rabbit had several different options in that department. Still, being me, and not particularly concerned about internal stimulation, I didn’t find that a drawback at all.

It totally delivers in the orgasm department. The ‘tail’ portion that rests against the clit is totally pleasant. Yum! The reduced girth also made it more comfortable for use, which I enjoyed. It’s not a super quiet toy, but then again, most dual action toys aren’t. You just can’t put two motors in such a small package and not expect it to make any noise. It wasn’t terrible though, certainly wouldn’t deter me from using it.

Swag Fetish FridaysYou know, despite how sexually open and laid back I am, I’ve always been a bit…squicked out, by ‘realistic’ sex toys. There is just something unsettling about a toy that essentially looks like a dismembered penis. However, I decided it was about time to feature one on this blog, since not everyone is weird about it like I am. Pleasure Me Now was quite happy to send my my very own CyberSkin 8 Inch CyberCock Dildo.

When I removed it from the packaging, I was amazed at how realistic it felt. Very strange, but also kinda sexy. If I closed my eyes I could almost swear it was an actual penis. The softness of the cyberskin is incredible, and yet the core of the shaft is quite firm. Much like an actual penis. The testicles were what did it for me though. The sack was quite squishy, and contained two firm balls that move and feel VERY much like the real thing when squeezed.

Cyberskin DildoThe veins, the shape, and the feel make this the most convincingly realistic toy I’ve ever handled.

How would it feel though? On the inside…

Before we get to that part, let me say a few words about keeping these toys clean. Gentle antibacterial soap and warm water will do the trick (I always use President’s Choice antibacterial hand soap). Allow the toy to air dry completely and then dust lightly with corn starch. DO NOT use baby powder or talcum powder.

Once I’d washed it, I decided that for an even more realistic feel, I’d warm the dildo up in some warm water. Do not use boiling hot water, you should still be able to comfortably put your hand it in. Allow the dildo to sit in the water for 10 - 15 minutes and shake off excess water. You can dry it with a lint-free fabric (t-shirts work well) in this case, since you want to use it right away.

It feels very much like a real penis during use. The firmness and sensation is very similar, and you don’t have to worry about premature ejaculation, or inability to maintain an erection *cheeky wink*.

Jack gave it a go and was pleased with how real it felt. Certainly safe for anal play as well, and highly recommended for any males who are bi-curious or just looking for the sensation without having to have sex with another man.

This dildo is also compatible with a number of harnesses, for use with a partner.

Toy Fetish TuesdaysUp until recently, I had never had the extreme pleasure of trying out silicone lubricant. In my defence, Jack and I rarely use lubricant (except for anal play and vaginal fisting) so I hadn’t given a lot of thought to types of lubricant and the pros and cons of each.

Spicy Gear was generous enough to throw in a bottle of Pjur Eros BodyGlide Original silicone lube along with the awesome toys they sent me. I was interested in giving it a go, especially to discover the differences between it and water-based lubricant.

Our first experiment with said lube involved Jack’s rear end and a certain steel toy, wielded by yours truly. The first thing I noticed is that it’s much runnier than water-based lube. It has a consistency similar to cooking oil, and a little bit goes a long, long way.

Much to our delight, silicone lube does not become sticky and dried out like water-based lube can become. It seems to last forever and ever. It’s also more slick feeling than water-based lube, doing a superior job of reducing any unpleasant friction.

Unlike water-based lubricant, which obviously will wash away with water, silicone lubricant is ideal for use under, ahem…wet conditions. No, not that kind of wet, I am talking about in the shower, bath tub, pool, hot tub, slip ‘n’ slide, etc. You may have to reapply a little more often in those situations, but it’ll last you ages longer than KY or similar.

Pjur Eros BodyGlide Silicone LubricantAnother thing I’ve heard it’s excellent for (although I can’t speak to this personally) is for skin-on-skin friction in non-sexual situations. I am talking about the insides of your thighs rubbing together when you wear a dress or skirt. For some people, this is an uncomfortable problem, particularly if you are heavier set. Just apply a little silicone lubricant to the insides of your thighs and it will apparently help a great deal.

The only thing that I disliked about silicone lubricant is that it will not easily wipe off with a little tissue (like water-based lubricant). That slick, somewhat oily feeling will last until you shower and scrub with soap, or until you clean yourself VERY well with WetOnes. It’s fine you have such things handy, and the time to use them, but if you’re having a quickie on the way out the door to your yoga class, you’re going to be stuck with that feeling for a while. I am sure that won’t bother everyone, but for me it’s a little…icky. However, not worth subtracting points over, just wanted to mention that.

When you use silicone lubricant with sex toys, it might take some effort to scrub it off of some surfaces. Also, NEVER, EVER use silicone lubricant with a silicone sex toy. The chemical properties of the silicone lube will destroy your toys. You must use water-based lubricant only with silicone toys. However, there is a small loophole. If you are very careful to use a condom on your sex toy, and insure that the silicone lubricant never comes into contact with the surface of the toy, you’ll be fine. Silicone lubricant is fine for steel, glass, latex/rubber, and plastic. Due to the porous nature, I don’t recommend it for jelly toys either.

I’ve been converted. I’ll never go back to water-based lubricant again!

Toy Lust TuesdaysI remember someone telling me about the Fukouko Massage Glove some time ago. The concept sounded sort of odd to me, so I was interested in trying this particular toy out when Pleasure Me Now offered the chance.

The Glove is made out of a black lycra-type material and the entire thing is totally waterproof. There is a vibrating pad in the tip of each finger, and the batter pack/control slides into a pouch on the wrist. The vibrating pads only have two speeds, but the intensity is spot-on.

It sounds a bit like a swarm of bees when you turn it on. The sensation of having vibrating fingers is amusing if not strange. The glove is one size fits most, which means it will not fit Jack, because his hands do not fall into the ‘most’ size range. I have average sized hands and there is still a little room to spare for me.

My biggest concern was how best to clean this particular toy. The vibrating pads cannot be removed, but since it’s waterproof there isn’t a lot of need to worry about that. The best method I could come up with is to squirt a little ant-bacterial hand soap onto the glove while you are wearing it, and wash it like you are washing your bare hand. Make sure to rinse it really well and then leave it to hang dry or stretch it out on a towel. If it has something on it that seems really tough to get off, try scrubbing the spot with a small, soft brush and some soap, or leave the whole glove to soak in soap and warm water.

Fukuoku Massage GloveAside from being an unusual sex toy, this glove is also a good device for neck/shoulder/body massage. Try it out on your sore muscles.

We gave this thing a spin in a couple of ways. First I used it on Jack. It delivers a unique and pleasurable sensation when you cup a man’s balls while wearing the glove. It also enhances hand jobs quite nicely. Stroking the perineum and anus while the fingertips buzz away is also very nice I am told.

Pinching or touching the nipples with this glove also achieves excellent results. Yum!

I used it for masturbation, which felt really, really good. Mind you it wasn’t really designed to be used internally, so keep this one in the clitoral stimulation category. I was able to achieve a really delicious orgasm with very little effort on my part.

Being somewhat fickle when it comes to vibrators I would have preferred that this toy have more than two speeds, but that is just a personal preference and says nothing about the quality of the vibration that this toy delivers.

Being rather unassuming to look at, you also wouldn’t be totally humiliated if you accidentally left it out somewhere when company arrived.

Rockin RabbitAfter the last interesting experience with a cock ring device, I’ve avoided trying another one for almost a year. Once I saw the Rockin Rabbit over at Sensual Direct however, I decided that maybe this one would be different.

For one thing it has 2 bullets rather than one. Those bullets are not the one-speed variety either, and each has it’s very own control. Each control holds the 2 AA batteries required to get these babies buzzing.

When I initially popped some batteries into it and turned on one of the bullets, I was immediately impressed with how intense the vibrations were. Quite a nice range of vibration actually, comparable to most standard vibrators.

Also the bullets are quite large, as is the cock ring itself. When I held it in my hand, I wondered how good it was going to feel sandwiched between our genitals. I mean, generally there isn’t a lot of room down there. Would it just put uncomfortable pressure on my clit or labia? Would the bullets be too big to feel pleasurable? Being somewhat awkward looking, I was skeptical of this product.

I really like that both of the bullets can be used independently from the cock ring. There is a thin seam that runs along the widest part of each bullet, so please cover them with a condom if you plan to use them this way (the rabbit covers the seam when they are in normal use). I appreciate toys that are versatile.

I found the entire contraption to be a little on the large side. As I suspected, when pressed between two bodies, it can be somewhat uncomfortable. However, the vibration aspect is excellent, and both of us greatly enjoyed the ability to control the bullets separately. The intensity of the vibration was certainly strong enough for me, so I was not disappointed.

When Jack thrust into me too hard, the bullet hitting my clit was a little uncomfortable, so I would advise you to go gently. Slow, gentle grinding feels heavenly and keeps the vibration in constant contact with all of the right spots.

The bullets are not waterproof, so wipe them well with an antibacterial moist towelette after use. The rabbit portion can easily be sanitized with antibacterial soap and warm water.

The cock ring portion was a comfortable fit for Jack, and enhanced his erection nicely.

Njoy Fun WandYou know, I’ve been lusting after the sleek and sexy steel toys made by Njoy since I discovered their website some months ago. I wondered how that cold (or warm perhaps) metal would feel sliding along the front wall of my cunt.

So when the fabulous people at Spicy Gear up and sent me one, I was totally over the moon! You cannot grasp the excitement I felt when I opened the lid on the gorgeous box it comes with. There, nestled amongst silky pink fabric, was the Fun Wand! Squeeee!

It was much smaller in size than I was anticipating. A little longer than a pencil and about the thickness of my little finger, it’s not the least bit intimidating. I stroked its perfectly smooth curves, examining the three teardrop shaped ‘bumps’ along one end of the shaft. I imagined how delicious they would be working their way into my bottom. It was enough to give me the shivers.

Now having owned a steel toy, I can tell you that it’s actually very versatile, and so easy to clean! Much like glass, all that is required is a little anti-bacterial soap, hot water, and a soft cloth for drying it. NEVER, ever use anything abrasive on your Fun Wand or any steel toy, as it will ruin the finish.

Stainless steel can also be sterilized in boiling water or with a mild bleach solution (make sure to rinse it well afterwards).

It’s obviously waterproof so you can enjoy it in the tub or the shower. Even hot tubs or chlorine won’t bother it any. If you have a ceramic tub/shower just be a little careful not to bang this toy against any of the surfaces too hard, as it would be possible to chip your ceramic. Keep that in mind if the toy is in or near your mouth as well, since chipping one’s tooth is not my idea of a good time.

Any sort of lube you like is totally compatible with this toy, and it can easily be covered with a condom for shared use. You can warm it up in a sink/bowl full of hot water (please check the temperature on the inside of your wrist before sticking it anywhere more sensitive though) or cool it off in the fridge for all sorts of fun added sensations.

Being quite slender, and perfectly curved for prostate stimulation (with either end) this toy is ideal for both men and women who are just beginning to explore anal play. Jack says that the end with the ‘balls’ along the shaft is sort of like anal beads, except SO MUCH BETTER because it curves upward and rubs against his prostate.

I heated it up in a sink of hot water before I slid it into his anus. He said the warmth was fantastic, and much more comfortable than room temperature, or cool. The smooth end with the ball at the end made for an excellent handle, and the toy was easy to remove as well.

Speaking of the curved end with the ball, it was designed specifically for G-spot stimulation. You all know that thus far I have not be successful when it comes to getting a thrill from that specific area. I can say though that there is nothing quite like having chilled steel gliding over your girl parts.

Despite not having a prostate, it’s also quite wonderful for female anal stimulation. Yum!

I love the curves of this toy. No matter which end you use, the other end makes a lovely handle. This allows for either gentle or firm stimulation. It also makes it easier to use solo.

This is also one of two toys that Jack has forbidden me from ever giving away (along with his Fleshlight).
