Basic Leather Flogger Review

I’m generally reluctant to order any bondage/BDSM toys from mainstream adult product retailers, because honestly, the quality is often low and the price high. I often purchase my own equipment from local craftsmen, or from stores who cater specifically to the kinky set.
That said, some sex toys retailers DO carry some adequate, and even very good leather and fetish goods, which is why I chose this flogger from SexToy.Com for a review.
The Basic Leather Flogger is an affordable and practical choice for both new and more experienced players. If you or your partner are really just getting into the lifestyle, this flogger, like so many others you will find, won’t break your bank, and if you don’t like it, you won’t feel like you wasted a ton of money just to be disappointed.
On the other hand, I have a great number of leather toys, and this is one of my new favorites. The sensation range falls towards the stingy, rather than thuddy, and I’d rate this particular flogger as medium to harsh in terms of intensity. This is not a soft warm-up flogger. I would pull this one out towards the middle or end of a scene for maximum enjoyment. It will leave welts by the way, and if used hard enough, certainly has the potential to break skin.
It has 15 falls, and for a flogger in this price and quality range, it’s pretty alright in terms of balance. Balance, for anyone who is unfamiliar, refers to how the weight of the flogger is distributed. If all of the weight is in the tails, and none in the handle, your arm will tire out pretty quickly. The reverse is also true. Makers of custom floggers will often balance handles with lead weights, which are put inside the handle until the weight is equal, and the flogger can be balanced on one finger where the handle meets the falls. This is generally most important with very heavy falls (or tails) which isn’t the case with this flogger, but it’s something to be mindful of when purchasing such implements.
The handle is covered with a single piece of leather, and completed with some decorative finishing nails. A small turk’s head knot at each end, and a d-ring for hanging it from a belt or wall complete this toy. I advise you to store this toy (and all floggers for that matter) hung up whenever possible. It keeps the falls from becoming folded or wrinkled, and extends the life of your flogger.
Cleaning leather can become a bit precarious, and I would recommend consulting Google or your local tack shop. Most BDSM toys are made from unfinished leather, and there are plenty of commercial cleaners available for the task of keeping your toys in great condition.
I love this flogger, and it’s become one of the toys the select toys I carry with me to play parties and events (I certainly don’t bring them all, so I have a large tool box for designated play party gear).
